Fairly certain his narrative will end by having to merge his AI consciousness with another evil AI bent on world destruction in order to neutralize its malicious plans (yes, just like Deus Ex) and losing his physical pug form in the process. He will die for the sins of all mankind and our selfish follies, yet he was never human himself. Perhaps...right before the end, he learned what it meant to become truly human :( A tragic tale, we will remember for eternity.

Hit me so hard when I randomly read on news that James Mccaffrey died. All memories from religiously playing the Max Payne games back in the early 00s came back. And it happened on December.... the month I usually replay the whole series. Guess because I first played Max Payne 2 on December 2003 I always get in the mood for Max Payne that time of year... If it's snowing outside, fits the Max Payne 1 mood even better! RIP James Mccaffrey. No other voice could have brought this character to life. For me the Max Payne series died along James Mccaffrey. Man I loved Max Payne 2, there was just something about it. It had this intangible uniqueness and it hit me at just the right stage of my life to take hold. The first game was great too, but that was so much more openly satirical and wholly enjoyable for that too. MP2 felt more like a re-imagining than a sequel, while being absolutely a sequel if that makes sense. It's the sort of game that wouldn't be a major release anymore; serious, wry, playful, well-paced, and inspired. There was just a little fresh magic in there that's kinda hard to find these days. Thanks for the video, was a welcome trip down memory lane,

It's shit when your friends do that, isn't it? The memories of those you loved weigh a lot more than any problems they shared ever could, if only they'd shared them. And every moment of happiness you feel is immediately sliced up and offered to the spirit of someone who only exists when you think of them, which is always, because you need them all the time if you want to feel like you. I just wish I'd told them that the growing emptiness they felt was over-filled by what I felt for them. Stupid bastards. If they'd stuck around longer, they'd have seen the joke...100% meaningless equals 100% freedom. Good luck, whoever you are. Desolation is just the best landscape on which to build something worthwhile

I liked it more than the first, and I did not know why at the time, much like what you're saying here, I would have only been able to point to extremely surface level things like "I love games with cartwheel ragdolls like Minority Report: Everybody Runs and Half Life 2" and "I love bullet time" (because I am just coming off watching The Matrix and a bunch of Newgrounds animations made by people who _also_ love bullet time, because The Matrix was still highly culturally relevant). It wasn't till I grew older that I appreciated the story, too.

Dude - this was certainly one of your best videos imo. Makes me want to replay the remedy Max Paynes and pay more attention to the story. I think a problem with the game is that people played it expecting a cool bullet time action game, and so they were not so receptive to the insanely clever story telling - this is how I felt when I first played it, I would just skip all the story to get to shooting goons. As a result though, the bits in between became boring and tedious, which is a shame - I can now appreciate how cool those bits are. Love your skits too man - especially when you bring game characters to life - so cool!

This is one of the best games I ever played. Gameplaywise it was OK, pretty cool but... what really had me was the story, the writing, the acting, everything going on. It felt like a real story, and a game that treated me, the player, as a not dumb person. (Which still today is something that's uncommon, maybe I just haver a look about me that says "Hey I'm dumb, a dummy, a reeeeaaaal dum dum".) The monologue "Things I want by Max Payne" actually made something happen in me, it made me start thinking. Thanks for an awesome look back, you really made it (Dick) justice!

The fact Grimbeard has only 121k subs given the amazing quality of his work tells you everything you need to know about the problems with KZbin and any other social media platform. He doesn’t jam in 10 ads, he doesn’t release a video a week, so the algorithm pretends he doesn’t exist.

Yep...that's the path we've decided to take as a species, apparently. Personally, I like to think of The Velvet Underground's first album...no one bought it at the time but, 30 years later, everyone cited it as an influence. Van Gogh lived in a chicken coop. Hopefully, the value of these videos will be appreciated after his death, which could be as soon as next month. It's important to remain positive, you know?
