Jon Stewart and Colbert were that very dynamic duo way back. I still remember their rival rallies of hope/fear in DC, and the epic battle between the two on stage once- that and Stewart was a producer of Colbert's show bac then.

yup, not just the song, but the "speaking in one voice" game as well, which is much harder than it looks (although Stephen did cheat a little on this one). Great improvisers to be able to trust each other & just go for it like that :)

Both improv geniuses forsure. although Fallon or Meyers would have done well too, but maybe that's why they're hosts, like both of these guys. Oh, Add stewart to that list of course. and Steve Carrell actually. Which makes me wonder, why isn't he hosting something? I bet he'd do well hosting a late show.

in mid-aughts, I read an article about how/why the cereal aisle was committing suicide: that every "new" cereal was just a spin-off (variation) on an existing brand. (14 kinds of cheerios, as example) kinda feels like the movie landscape.

I liked the originally planned version of "Squirrel'd" a lot more back when it was supposed to co-star Jon Stewart, before he ran away with the actual squirrel leading them to kill off the squirrel character in the very beginning and necessitating all the reshoots.
