I'll actually be away from home just after the release for 2 weeks, so this'll make for great viewing until I get back to the sim and can really dig in. You are quickly becoming the MD Whisperer. You were right on regarding the MANPADS defense system. MANPADS = Man Portable Air-Defense System. The crew does nothing - it operates totally on its own and the only evidence of it on the aircraft is a pod on the bottom on the fuselage just behind the main gear. FedEx was the first major carrier to have it onboard. I think its also available on 747's as well.

07:00 As I remember center gear could be stayed up to avoid to much drag in case of engine failure provided the landing weight is still in green zone

Good tutorials, this will help new peoples to the MD11. And fact about the center gear: Central gear is more of a Mel item. Should only be raised if under maintenance, provided the aircraft weight adjusted accordance with the AFM.

@@moosestaffa83 For the pax, sometimes it would be different for airport operations were it may not be required for using central gear if the Md11 isn’t fully loaded with passenger or fuel.

I have my roll axis normal but my Y axis I've cut in half until TFDI refines the elevator sensitivity

MANPADS defense system you got right, it's for defense against Infrared shoulder mounted anti aircraft missile launchers, used in areas of the middle east typically

The screen brightness for the 6 CRTs is controlled by the EFB? Or did i misunderstood. How is that controlled in the real plane. Also do you know if they are working on terrain display? Thanks

I think that is for the EFB screen brightness, the CRTs are controlled by knobs direct beneath the fuel cutoff switches. I don't know if they arecworking on Terrain or weather

@@moosestaffa83 thanks I found the 6 rotary knobs. Could not find them based on my camera position. Terrain should be added. I like flying in south America and terrain is a problem.

Is it just me or do some of the buttons don’t work with click on mouse? Ex arming the emergency lights, I can’t seem to move it to armed position preventing me from flying this craft correctly

Anything with a three position switch requires you to use the mouse scroll wheel.

I was undecided between this plane and the 777. I bought this one and it was a mistake. First, I bought the add on pack for the freighter; I couldn't download it for some reason. I couldn't install liveries, and once I tried to set up the plane and make my first flight, it was a horror show. There is no documentation on the website. The KB section doesn't include the MD-11. I hope I can get my money back.

I'm sorry you are disappointed with the aircraft. There is actually documentation on the website, although it's not the most intuitive to find to be fair. You can find it here docs.invernyx.com/ Use the blue menu to find the proper info under the MD-11 heading

However, once I got it working and watched your videos, I completed 2 flights in 2 attempts. Not perfect, but good enough. It's a great plane to fly. Thanks,

I'm almost 100% sure it's not. I don't remember if TFDi has said that it will be compatible with Xbox or not. But marketplace releases always are later than initial release

I like this aircraft…..wanted to love it, but feel like TFDi has really mismanaged the release of this plane. They kept saying it was being delayed because it wouldnt be released until it was good and ready to be. Then, for some unknown reason, they released what was in fact a beta. And for $80 at that. Its a good plane, without a doubt, but it falls short of what they said it would be. Its disappointing. I do believe that it has gotten, and will continue to get, better. Typing this just brings to mind that the letdown really originated from TFDi themselves in what they said it would be upon release, and then we get a beta.
