Though I'd heard a lot of Meatloaf before, I think the first time I heard this through was for a rehearsal for a Magic Act I was hired into. The full 11-12 min version of the song. As you said, 'Beauty and the Beast'. 7 - 8 illusions, 4 hand tricks, and 3 disappearances. It was INSANE to say the least, so this song holds a special place for me. After a few shows of it, I ended up calling all the lighting/pyro cues DURING the performance as well. The gravity of a show like that, and not getting anything wrong and revealing something is intense. Literally needed a day off after the shows to recover mentally. Can't hear the song now without actually calling it in my head...and hoping no one is near the explosives that I can't see when I say GO!

With regards to the name Meat Loaf, his father called him "Meat" since he was a baby. Due to the fact, he was a large baby and very red when he was born and looked like a pile of meat in his fathers eyes. The Loaf part was added when he stepped on his football coach foot in high school, the teacher shouted "get off me you big meatloaf" and the nickname stuck. Although he insists that "meat" and "loaf" are two seperate words, and he preferred to be called just "Meat"

I don't know if 14 is too young for that "music is life changing" moment, but I hope not. It's great that you're exposing her to such a wide variety of artists and styles. There's nothing quite like that moment when you finally click with a group, or a song, and it actually changes you in a fundamental way. I think for me it was hearing "How Soon is Now" by the Smiths back in 1987. It was one of the first times that a song really spoke to me in a way that no others hadn't. I was only 18 at the time, and still trying to figure out who I was as a person.

There is actually a chunk missing in the version of the video from the song. I have NEVER found a video version with this version in. it says thus- Will you make me some magic with your own two hands? Can you build an emerald city with these grains of sand? Can you give me something I can take home? I can do that I can do that This comes between the "will you hold me sacred, will you hold me tight" and "will you cater for every fantasy I got". The music changes so abruptly it's obviously cut.

It's a great song, one that relaunched Meatloaf's career. Fun fact: Meatloaf's daughter, Pearl, toured with him as the lead female vocalist in the late 1990's/ early 2000's. It made doing this song, and Paradise by the Dashboard Lights a bit challenging. Side fact: Pearl is the wife of Anthrax guitarist, and founding member, Scott Ian. Would love to see her reaction to Paradise by the Dashboard Lights, since it is similar to I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That).

15:00 -"If I wouldn't have told you you probably wouldn't have thought about it." That statement says slot about how you present the music to your kids. As a reaction video it would be better if you were to give limited information before the video, ask about their thoughts afterwards, then dive into the in depth talk about your history with the song and the meaning behind the music. Otherwise you're coloring their first experience with your own impressions before they've even listened to the song.
