Meccano Elektrikit Motor

An 8 solenoid Meccano Elektrikit motor designed & built by Paul Roberts. The bottom 4 solenoids are genuine Meccano, the top 4 are some 3D printed solenoids I did earlier this year. The design was very loosely based of the permanent magnet motor from the Elektrikit manual. The commutator on top is lined up so the poles oppose each when in line for the next 1/8 of a turn. All the solenoids are wired in parallel. This motor wasn't as powerful as I was expecting, but it did work.
