I miss running a blown small block, 7 gallon pump and 6/71 with 1 set of hat nozzles. Doesn’t even need a hi speed, if you have one it becomes the pump saver. Run everything into a little manifold block and 1 -six return is all you need. Ultra simple!

So in general are the VW TDIs and SDI engines with PD (injector units driven by camshaft lobes, direct injection) considered mechanical EFI ? ECU controls the amount of time the injector runs but the cam is actuating the pressure, coupled with a camshaft driven tandem (vacuum and diesel) pump to bring that fuel to the block

Ever been a case of nitro detonating *INSIDE* the mechanical fuel system?

@jeremyhanna38524 жыл бұрын
That is nostalgic mechanical fuel inj for nitro the alchohol inj on a sprint car works on a similar theory but there is 8 barrel valves in the stacks the tuning is way more of a pain in the ass theres enuff check valves to start a parts store
@davidroberts24043 жыл бұрын
Same as this. None have 8 barrel valves they all have 1 unless its a big show nitro car that runs a barrel valve on each side of the hat.

I know the vid is a year old, but it explains it for a simpleton. Good info, but when people really want to start tuning, it can become rocket science for some.

I pretty much understand it, with this video and some other online articles that I've red. But there's still something which I have doubts about: is the fuel injected *before* or *after* the blower?
@davidroberts24043 жыл бұрын
The hat nozzles are basically used to seal up and keep the rotors cool. Most all the tuning is done with the port nozzles since we base everything off of 100 psi. The pump on that car is called an enderle 1100 which flows 17.4 gpm the car on the lift has a more modern psi roots but smaller cubic inches so it has a 1200 pump. Its always better to habe too much pump and just return excess back to the tank than not have enough fuel.
@allurared9029 Жыл бұрын

I usually read the comments, some like your short vids, others are like slow down. Do you make more revenue off 100 2 minute videos than fewer 10 minute? Some like your antics, some want to learn, I'm still trying to figure out what your vids are about. I've seen those who get thousand of subs then change their tactics. I'm an old Mopar man, 68 B body like yours, two 440's one 383, late Hemi, and a little over a half a dozen other vehicles. Most would have to watch that video several times to half figure it out, but maybe that's the point.
