Here's a better idea. A bide run, the only move he can use is bide. Maybe if you wanted more challenge to it, you could say no duplicate pokemon. And unless he starts in gen 4 (or there's a pokemon I don't know that starts the same) and gives himself a krikatot. He can use whatever move that pokemon learns until it gets bide. No progressing until your starter has bide

When you were discussing the tm moves meowth had, you acted as though it was BAD coverage, but in gen 1, the only things that didn't take neutral damage from normal were rock types and the gengar line, and with bubblebeam and thunderbolt you've got all of those covered

Pokemon Challenge Idea: Beat Pokemon Emerald using only the move Assist; you can have as many Pokemon as you want to battle (you can have six Pokemon battle, but only if they have Assist). I think this makes the team-building creative, whilst still challenging. For example, against Roxanne, you will have a Skitty and also a Shroomish, but only Skitty is allowed as it knows Assist. By using Assist, you have the chance to utilise Shroomish’s Absorb, and whilst that seems easy, you still have a small chance of landing Shroomish’s Pound attack. Whether you switch-train to level-up non-battling Pokemon to make them learner stronger moves, or you use what’s around you the way they are (no switch-training), is up to you.

New challenge idea: Can you beat The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as a Balagog gro-Nolob aka 'The Gourmet'? Ie; no armour, (only the chef clothing) a knife, and a fork. (Not sure if people know but you can equip certain knives and forks as one handed weapons) You can enchant the fork and knife, but no fortify restoration loop glitches to get insane elemental damage or absorb health enchantments.

So Meowth. Good news is that you get access to a high crit move with stab , with access to electric and water coverage, you’ll hit everything at least neutrally and you’ve got decent speed this time around. Bad news is that all your other stats are 45 or lower so damage and survivability are potentially low. You’ll probably still win (can’t really think of a gen 1 challenge you failed). Anyway here’s some challenges: Emerald with Magcargo (basically the abomasnow challenge in a region more centered around kicking its ass) Fire red with only normal type moves (use foresight or odor sleuth for ghosts) Platinum using only Pokemon that can be fished up with a rod. Heart gold/soul silver with only a sunkern (sequel to a previous challenge) Black using only a Tynamo (definitely gonna need items in battle for this one) Black/white 2 challenge mode using only first form bugs (another sequel) And for a couple non Pokemon challenges: Final Fantasy X-2 using only Brother (creature creator) Skyrim with only shouts Kingdom hearts Rechain of Memories without using sleights

Is it just me or some of the last challenges (especially in the first generations) are too short? I mean, iirc in his early videos they were longer and with more commentary. Now they seem like just a recap of the most important battles (rival, gyms and elite four) back to back. No hating here. I love his pokemon challenges and I've watched all of them. I'm just saying that in early generation games where he's done more challenges, now it seems more like a description of how many tries it took to win a certain battle and what happened the time he won

I think he's getting tired of making them, but he keeps to his upload schedule religiously. Jrose uploads irregularly/far less often but has higher quality content. It's basically a choice between constant stream of good content or erratic uploads of super high quality content. I like to listen to MDB while doing dishes or cooking or folding laundry etc because I can enjoy it and he makes a TON of content so you'll never run out. When JRose uploads I have to watch it with 100% attention because he makes tons of little jokes I'd miss if I wasn't paying attention

In gen 2 rage is pretty decent but I think it does take PP there, not sure though. Ghost types are GG in gen 1 because struggle doesn't hurt them.

You should do a gag where you’re going to battle the champion, but right before you get to them, you combine all your gags in one. Right when you’re a couple steps away from the champion, building up the climax of ending the challenge, you get a call from youngster Joey telling the viewers to follow your twitter. Then, when you return, you remember that you forgot to revive the helix fossil you got previously in the run, but it’s fine, because comments are good for the yt algorithm. Finally, when you return for the fated battle, you shill the sponsor for that video. Eventually, you return only to find that the egg you got earlier in the run hatched, but it’s just youngster joey calling to tell the viewers to follow you on twitter. Hey, just wanted to say that I'd love to see more non-pokemon challenge runs. I'm not a huge fan of normal multi-part game playthroughs, ie crusader kings, (just a personal taste, nothing against yours in particular, I'm sure they're great), but I absolutely LOVE challenge runs. The reason I watch your pokemon runs is because it's really interesting to see what kind of strategies you come up with, and how you handle different situations/setbacks, but that can apply to any game. Really I just enjoy seeing how you tackle problems :D

I think Aron would be better in Sapphire, since not only are there more Water types overall (since Team Aqua is the evil team), but also Steven has 3 Earthquake users instead of 2, and Aron is quad weak to Ground. Now, Aron does have Steel-type attacks to deal with Steven's Rock-types and Wallace has more Water-types, which are also somewhat effective against it (and target Aron's weaker special defense), but Steven is usually the more difficult champion. I dunno, it depends on how you look at it.

Meowth and persian as a whole are probably one of the best pokemon in gen 1 due to its high speed and slash being a big critical hit chance move. I would like to see pokemon ruby with only zangoose Or like double battles emerald with zangoose and seviper arch rivals having to work together

You should try to do Pokémon white with one solosis I imagine this would be easy because of solosis’s high special attack star of 105 but it may be hard because of his base speed being 20 also make it big cell as a reference to your Pokémon fire red dragon ball z team training rom hack

I always enjoy when I see how long the videos are because it's a nice preview to see how difficult the run takes. A shorter video likes today gets me going "ok, gotta watch to see how easy this is" and longer videos have me thinking "oh boy, who/what is giving him trouble and how long does it take to beat XYZ." Natu next would should be fun!

Love your challenges! I would love to see a Vulpix run in Crystal. If you need an easier challenge that is. Something to do quick when you're doing a brutal challenge

Can I beat "game of choice" without battling any wild pokemon. Pretty simple, just can't attack any wild Pokemon, must use an item, run, or switch. No items in battle, no glitches or exploits etc. Also, no VS Seeker since it kinda ruins the whole point of EXP management. I feel like this has many possibilities, whether solo running or just cycling team members. I would recommend using a game with lots of EXP like Platnium for an easy run, HGSS for the hardest run (but maybe also the easiest?), and FRLG or Emerald for a more balanced run. Enjoy!
