Hi Shae, I just reported someone who responded to my comment. They were using your profile picture and their username started with yours, but ended with some random letters and stuff. I wanted to let you know because they were asking to have some discussion with me. I’m sure there’s creeps like this all over KZbin but stinks to see them here. I don’t know if there’s anything you can do but AnyWho I reported them, so that’s good.

I share your emotions when she said a soft place to fall. I just had to euthanize my English Bulldog Otto, he was only 8 yrs old. I rescued him, I had always wanted one but could not afford to buy a puppy from an excellent breeder. I knew that they have problems and I knew that I was going to have some hefty vet bills, so when he was available through my daughter, he was left with her by his original owner that was going to work overseas with the thought in mind that she would find the right owner for him. She was in love with him and cried when she brought him to me in South Carolina from her home in Florida. I and my vet fixed all his problems which were many as his owner had either not noticed things or perhaps could not afford to spend the money. I have spent upwards of 4,000 in vet bills over three years. When he developed a growth on his lower jowel my vet said we have to go to surgery. The blood panels were excellent but still him having to go under for the surgery was scary as it is for all smush faced dogs. I waited about ten days to get the pathology report and it was nothing short of devastating. His cancer was very agressive and was the type that does NOT repsond to Chemo or Radiation so the prognosis was terrible. I absolutely did not want him to suffer so I took him in every two weeks for the vet to check things out. It became obvious that the growth was coming back and his lymph glands started swelling in his neck. I knew we were about to get to the suffering stage and I knew it was time to give him the best love which is MERCY to do the right thing. I have the type of connection that you have Shae with your horses with all the dogs that have been in my life, many of which were rescues. Thank you for rescuing this wonderful mare.

Certainly kills many people who are retired and feel out of touch with life and kind of lie down and die! My mom retired at 50 when she met her second husband a retired doctor but they were SO busy with nature clubs, friends, travel to Europe and Hawaii, gardening for both food and flowers, managing local bird clubs and mom was able to return to her true love artwork! She raised 5 kids worked full time as head nurse and then as director of Nursing at her hospital got a Bachelor's degree . After marrying she moved across the country and earned her second degree at university in Fine Arts. Lie down never! Her husband passed nearly 20 years after they were married. She is now 87. The old gray mare is still at work!

Okay for anyone who is confused. 2 years ago she was sold as a 14 year old gelding the owner was probably a broker because he knew nothing about her. Shae had a Veterinarian look at her teeth and the vet said between 25-30 but Shae thought she was likely 20ish. Last year she decided she was 25 and this year after spending so much time with her she decided she is 30. Regardless of all that Bagheera has an amazing home for the rest of her life. Love your videos! You are the most amazing horse woman and person thank you for sharing your horses and life with all of us!

thank you for this! I had watched her previous videos and was confused as to how she went from being 14 two years ago to now being 30! I assumed that Shae had perhaps had her teeth checked by an equine dentist and made a correction, but if she mentioned it in a video, I must've missed it!

So, Bagheera’s reciprocity for all the love and care she is given, is a happy, healthy, thriving horse who loves all the riding, connection with humans, curiosity to try new horsey things, and herd attitude at Free Spirit Equestrian Farm. I appreciate all the particular points about Bagheera’s gaits, stride, physical feeling in the saddle you have shared in this vlog. Your descriptions of Bagheera’s movement and conformation aspects in her natural and adapted style of locomotion/gaits, overall movement when riding her, is so informative about what a rider can feel and connect to on a horse, like her and others similar and those unlike her!! Especially, uniquely, fortunately, how great to ride a horse like her. Her knowledge and age, is a unique experience. Generally, so fundamental, but uncommon. Your descriptions are well said. I m grateful for your verbal teaching in the moment of riding Bagheera. Her age belies her energy and willingness to connect, go, mentor and attempt new horse related things. While she is a sage, super senior horse, she is, also, full of life, love and contentment. FSE Farm is the perfect, agreeable home she wants, needs and deserves!!! She continues to learn and teach all the other horses about life; with her manners, elegance, wisdom, and intelligence. She is a wondrous marvel of a horse!! Thanks, Shae for sharing so much information about Bagheera as an elder horse, as well as a riding horse with the particular aspects regarding her natural movement and her training experiences. I visited an Amish farm a few years ago. The wife and children had just returned from a day long trip of about 27 miles. When she "parked" the horse and disconnected the buggy and harnesses, she walked away and the horse just stood quiietly where it was. She told me they are trained to stand there until they are led away. I found it very interesting. btw, before disconnecting from the buggy, she took me on a buggy ride. Going out of her driveway was downhill - We were going so fast, I did ask "Where's the brake?!!!" She showed me down on the floor of the buggy. She laughed as one of the children was waving the toy whip around in the air! I can't imagine making a trip that long, on the road with vehicles - I would have had a very high level of anxiety the entire time!

She's such a special Mare! You can see the gentleness in her eyes. Absolutely a sweetheart. It's wonderful to know that she will spend rest of her golden years with people who genuinely love and care for her and will do everything to take the best care of her. Beautiful! 🐎❤️

What a good girl she is - she looks wonderful, Shae. If you think that 30 is old for a horse ? Well, it can be, but take heart ! The beautiful buckskin Quarter horse that Lorne Greene used in Bonanza for 14 seasons ( in his role as Ben Cartwright) was purchased by Lorne after the series ended in very early 1973. He didn't want that already older horse to perhaps end up in a 'bad situation' so he donated Buck to a riding school that taught kids with different physical abilities how to ride. Well, Buck lived to the ripe old age of 45 years old - which is comparatively closer to the life spans of mules or donkeys, than it is horses ! It is all about both good genetics and good care with horses, I guess. :) Buck was a good boy, too. :)

you really taught me alot through your horses. when I was riding growing up the horses that were 20ish + were looking ROUGH. I really thought that horses stopped being ridden around that age but it really shows that if u take care of the horses properly they age alot better. bagheera looks so good for 30 . seeing how u explain everything through the videos has really made me understand that my training growing up was very flawed

Shae, Bagheera is a wonderful horse. she is such a calm, motherly mare , besides being so beautiful. She gives back just what you ask of her. When she took over the 😮 of Ariel, so she coul🎉d become accustomed to the new environment, which made it easier for Ariel to train. Thank you and Kyle for your kindness to your horses. They are all special and easy to love.
