@@galacticcactus5530 Loni is their new greyhound! They adopted her after fostering her and she’s now Bunny’s bff. Peach is still with them, although she’s recently had surgery for some spine problems so she’s currently on crate rest until she recovers and goes through physical therapy.

On september 3rd I’m adopting a lovely 2 year old greyhound. Her name is Isabella or Izzy for short, and we’re so excited to meet her! Julien was actually the one who inspired me to look into saving a greyhound, and it’s so great to see all the good you do for these dogs!!

I told my mom that I’ve been thinking of adopting a rescue greyhound (still between a pitty and greyhound rescue). My mom was SHOCKED! There’s a rescue near me so I’m looking at their cute greyhounds and another Pitbull rescue near me too. Either way, I’m expecting great things for my first doggo!

Just know that both greyhounds and pitbulls are both quite difficult breeds (greyhounds especially), not recommended for first dogs. So if it's your first dog, please consider whether you'll be able to handle a difficult breed.

Don't listen to them. There's no such thing as an easy first breed. You sound passionate and I'm sure you're going to do the work necessary for whichever dog you get!!! Good luck!!! I highly recommend pet insurance!

@@wakeupitskelsey there might not be an "easy" dog breed, but some are definitely harder than others and not recommended for beginners. Greyhounds being one of them. Especially racing greyhounds that can have trauma and behaviour issues. Even Julien acknowledges this, just watch their Bunny videos. Not every dog is for everyone, and being aware of that prevents ill-considered adoptions and ultimately dogs returning to shelters/nonprofits.

@@juliajuliax Greyhounds are on a spectrum, like all rescue dogs. My dude is reactive, but I'm capable of working with him. But many greyhounds weren't accepted as racers, but still need good homes, and some race only a handful of times and come away with virtually no issues. And a good greyhound rescue will take your skill level and needs into account to find you the right dog. What you will find with greyhounds is that all are loving dogs that want naps, treats, love, and to wee on spiky grass bushes.

I have an adopted grey and was very lucky with him. Most can be subject to sleep startle and have anxiety issues. They are all diffrent. Most can't be around small animals because of their severe pray drive. A grey is a very unique experience that needs very specific care. they can't have normal collars. they can't have nails that grow long or they rip their legs to pieces when they run. they have very special anatomy and blood which requires a specialist vet. They are expensive to keep. Please don't consider a grey if you aren't willing do drop several thousand dollars on them at any given time. 2 ER vet visits in 6 months cost me 2k. and wanna know what they were? a dislocated toe (my sisters dog stepped on it) and wobblers. they are prone to cancers and teeth issues. please please think smart and do a ton of research before taking a grey into your home.
