you must have not watched the impact he had on the game.... his teammates got injured constantly in his prime. 00 to 08 he was a one man army with low quality role players his body gave out after 8 years of carrying the load witch not many players had to do. every top player besides A.i had a partner to take the load off once in a while. his fg% isnt in account to modern nba. those days teams didnt drop 100 on average besides the suns. they actually play defense! its hard to make 7 all nba teams win 2 scoring tittle have 13 in 35 seconds and go to the hall and be called underrated. his legacy didnt need rings to be a top 100 player in history as hes ranked in the 60s

McGrady was a flashy and entertaining player but that should not be the factor cementing him to higher career level than it is. It is important to look at performances and accomplishments where he underachieved in playoffs with constant first round exits. That is what people need to understand, exciting player with that style of play is not on level of Kobe or Duncan (who had a "boring" no flashy style of play, which brought chips). Achievements > Flashy Style.

I like and respect T-Mac a lot, but I never thought that he deserved to be a HOFer. It seems to me that he only got in because people were focusing on his peak, not his entire career. He's one of the most talented players ever, but when part of your legacy is never leading your team past the first round, including being culpable in blowing a 3-1 lead, I don't see HOF worthy. Also, the first time his team advanced past the first round was when he did not play due to injury.

I wouldn't say Tmac "choked" in the playoffs and when it mattered. That's a harsh label. I would say he wasn't as efficient as some of the all time greats and most efficient SGs and wing players in NBA history. But inneffective or a choker? That's a harsh label he doesn't deserve that
