PublicScoolFTW -I understand your point, but you may not be familiar with a very large county jail. Harris county (Houston) normally has 8-10,000 inmates at any given time. DUI or misdemeanor assault will get you locked up with murderers, rapists and all sorts of habitual felons that go through that revolving door on their way back to prison. Most of them said prison was better. Never saw or heard any rape, mostly because people are still trying to beat a case. It’s a real shithole.

It was more of a tragic movie how the prison and gangs suck you in and won't let you leave even after you get out. He started working for a gang in exchange for protection so he can get back to his family after being sentenced for "accident" and it turned out to life sentence for him and being separated from the family.

This by far is the movie that has been pretty close to the real stuff.. structure and politics is the reason why theres power no matter where your at( hole ,shoe). Good movie

Jeffery Donovan who plays Bottles has shown the best portrayal of a psychopath's body language. If you want to learn to read people watch this. I took one look at Bottles unnaturally calm demeanor and knew he was the most dangerous person on the yard. Superb acting and research by Jeffery. He played the sociopath Michael Weston on burn notice very well as well.

Except, he even admits that, like Jacob, there was a time when he himself struggled with the morality of it all and how his family would judge him. That pretty much rules out the possibility of him being a psychopath, since psychopathy is a genetic 'disorder' (the quotation marks because it doesn't take away the power of choice, which is why psychopathy is not grounds for an insanity plea). Bottles is definitely cold and calculating by choice..
