If the Earth was flat, why don’t travel to a country that is placed right at the end? If it was flat, you should see the end and maybe look down and the discussion would end?
@graciloo12026 жыл бұрын
Maybe you should speak with someone who believes the earth is round like visit a uni or something and approach it in the same way as you have here with and open mind not trying to prove or disprove anything that way you (and your viewers) could have both perspectives and “facts” about both point of views and be able to make a more educated decision about what they decide to believe. I only say this because I feel like if someone doesn’t know a lot about either point of view it is easier for them to be swayed one way or another so if you got equal information from each perspective it would be very beneficial for a lot of people.

I love that Alfie switched up the content and I love the questions he asked. I really enjoyed watching this. However, the interviewee has a lot of misconceptions regarding Earth. Obviously nothing will prove it to him that the Earth isn't flat, but regarding the whole not feeling the spinning thing, we literally learned about it in physics when we were learning about gravity and all that. Also, to those saying that flat earth should be taught at school so people can draw their own conclusions... Scientist have been researching for ages and have proven time and time again that the Earth is round, so I personally don't see nor believe that false ideas like that should be taught. Before you get lost in (believing) all the conspiracy theories, do your research on history, science and all that.

Well if this dude is so interested in believing what he has observed, but not believing blindly in science, he has the possibility to observe the reality of all scientific conjectures through experiences. Science isn't blindly believed in, it is something Men have created from scratch to take count of what they observe. I find it even disrespectful to put your own observation over what our whole civilization has fought to build, it even is the biggest form of egocentricity that can exist.

Although I personally do not believe in this theory, when reading into this topic, I often think of when people used to think that the Earth was the centre of the universe. These flat-Earthers who are deemed 'crazy' by the general public resemble those like Galileo and Copernicus, who questioned, 'what if the Earth WASN'T the centre of everything', and were right. People were thrown in jail for believing something against the common beliefs of everyone else, but it was later proven that they were right. On the other hand, Galileo and Copernicus were skilled and experienced astronomers and mathematicians who based their beliefs upon real observations of the universe made by them. As a young person who is fascinated by space and the expanse of the universe, I've just decided to stick to my beliefs that the Earth is round and everything else that is the norm, however, I will not 100% rule out this theory. If people one day came out with 100% solid proof, I would be intrigued and exited about this new discovery and I have learned to stay open-minded and not build any beliefs that are too concrete that they stop me from learning new things. This was a really interesting perspective but I still believe that the Earth is round because of all the science behind gravity, seasons and other phenomena that the Earth experiences which is explained by the spherical shape of the planet.
@annewhittemore37716 жыл бұрын
Alfie, about the point you make about his partner or family: Actually my husband believes the Earth is flat, disbelieves everything NASA says, and is afraid to say so to anyone because they will openly mock him. Love how 90% of the comments are people bashing this guy for believing in something different from their own beliefs. “Pretty sure the earth is round” key words being “pretty sure” aka you don’t KNOW for sure. People can believe what they want to believe. Someone believing the earth is flat has literally no affect on you so stop calling someone you don’t even know dumb or stupid or crazy. Try having an open mind. If you believe everything you’re told is always 100% fact then that’s..... sad. 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t believe it’s flat but others do and that’s okay. No need to be so rude or mean.

ALFIE DEYES, YOU'VE LEFT ME SO CURIOUS. This video was so, so interesting to watch. I'm so happy for you that your contest is your maturing along with this channel. I've never actually thought about this topic, I don't think most people do. I feel we automatically shrug it off because Earth being round is what we've always known. Though, that's still what I believe, I loved that this person answered with such clarity and this was a proper and honest discussion between two people who believe in two different things. If only every debate and discussion was as open as this. People need to realise that what they might believe is not everyone else's belief. It's unfair to put someone down simply because you believe in something different. Loved the video!

Please do not get sucked into this, it is a waste of time, education and an insult to the scientific pioneers that worked so hard to get us to where we are today. I started studying flat earth in early 2017 and it is beyond obvious that the earth is flat, space is fake, the moon landing was done in a studio, etc. All one has to do is use their eyes and their thinking and analytical center. When people choose not to do so, that is when you get angry and emotional reactions rather than reason. That said, well done, Alfie. I appreciate people who put information out even if they do not yet know what they think of it simply for the sake of intellectual conversation. Keep this up!
