So kind of you to help Ukrainian families.I am from Ukraine as well and we have just moved to Portugal. I can say that every little act of kindness from locals is like a hug and a statement that everything is going to be ok.

Lots of our Ukrainian family is staying here in the US as well currently. My parents immigrated at 30 with 6 kids in tow. I cannot imagine moving with my one child to a foreign country to start over! Edit: The refugees singing in Russian at the end was touching. ❤ Praising the Lord for his mercy after they've just escaped war. Wow.

Love, love that you are canning. I grew up canning with my mom and dad and have been canning for my family for over 40 years. There is nothing better! I want to share a tip… add the jars to a warm water canner, then bring it to a boil, reduce the heat but keep a boil and then start the timing at the boiling point. If your jars have cooled off- cooler that the canner water- the bottoms of the jars will break off and you lose all of your hard work in the water. I love canning!!!!

I go to Costco all the time and it’s only 3 of us! I love their produce, milk, eggs, PB, cheeses, paper goods/diapers, fish, chicken, cheap clothes and shoes, dry goods like seeds and nuts, condiments, etc etc etc 😁

Four of us and we got every 2-3 months. We buy our meat and break it down to smaller portions to be frozen, paper goods, cereal, tuna, bottled water for the church music team, the large bag of tortilla chips, trash bags, laundry detergent, you name it!

I'm one of those people who cook without recipes much of the time. It came from not having much money and learning to just use whatever I had in the cupboard. I do sometimes end up wishing that I had measured the amounts so I could make it taste the exact same way again but I do think it is fun to experiment. When I do cook without a recipe it always reminds me of the story about Stone Soup.

I've been canning my whole life- learned from my mother. My favorite memory was when each jar lid would 'pop',, my mother would exclaim "Praise the Lord!" or "Hallelujah!" or "Thank You, Jesus!" I have always done the same, especially when you experience jars that don't seal, it's a joy when each jar DOES seal, lol!

We have had a Costco membership since we were married. It just last longer and less shopping. Never got tired of yet. I shopped at other places and I end up spending way more for less. You can make things and freeze for later. Carrots celery ect. It a great place to get things when having a crowd. We also buy there appliances and furniture. Best place to buy appliances.
