hey Melanie! the reason that you can eat yogurt instead of milk is because the bactria in yogurt eat some of the lactose in milk!! you should try milk kefir, it's 99.9% lactose free because of the healthy bactiria in it and it's yummy (: P.s. I love your eye makeup in this video! supper cute!!

Yogurt doesn’t have as much lactose in it as milk because the probiotics feed on the lactose - also full fat or higher fat yogurts have less lactose than non fat! Same with aged cheese, the aging process actually breaks down a lot of the lactose.

Yogurt will aid in your digestion because a lot of the time its got live and active cultures in it which help you digest the dairy thats in the yogurt!! Especially greek yogurt which is strained differently so theres less lactose! (Also why its less sweet and thicker than regular yogurt)

I personally don't have any dairy, but the reason yogurt might be ok for you is that there is less lactose in butter/ yogurts than there is in Milk :D x

For the hip thrusts if you do it with a long bar bell like the ones you use to squat that then wrap a floor mat around it that will cushion your hips☺️

I always struggled with squat form but I started a weight lifting class at my gym a few weeks ago. It’s really helped me because you’re guided through the movement. Now I can break parallel but I’m so much sorer after

Hey! Love the Vlog kinda videos :) Tip: Try pilates breathing when working out with weights -> breathe out when you're lifting and breathe in when you let go... makes it easier but also keeps you engaged through it all, helps me tons :D

The padded bar for the hip thrusts is really just a normal olympic bar like the one for the squats with a padding thingy on it! My gym has some laying around so maybe you should find them in there too. Loved the video x

Love this! By the way, when I do hip thrusts, I just take a jacket or yoga mat or something and roll it up under the weight to add padding, you might want to try that!

You could try doing hip thrusts on the leg extension machine, theres loads of videos showing you how to do it! Alternatively you could wrap a mat around a barbell as a makeshift barbell pad x

I'm lactose intolerant and I find I can eat some dairy products with high fat contents(I'm not to sure on the science but they have less lactase in them which is the stuff that makes you sick)...so for me that's stuff like Greek yogurt and parmesan.

You can buy the barbell cushion on Amazon for super cheap! They’re amazing. (For squats and hip thrusts.) You won’t regret it-trust me!!They have Velcro closures so they’re very easy to use. If you don’t wanna do that, you can just grab a yoga mat from your gym and fold it zig-zag on itself 3x to cushion your hip bones during hip thrusts. And a little tip: keep your head up and looking at the wall or your body (like double chin status lol) rather than putting your head down. It’ll be a little harder but you’ll feel it 10x more in the right areas without straining your back by arching it on the thrust, which over time creates serious back problems. (Bret Contreras, who popularized hip thrusts and is aptly called the “Glute Guy” advises to do them this way as well.) I have damage in my lower back from not doing this correctly during hip thrusts in my newb days.

Yogurt doesn't upset your tummy like milk does because it's lower in lactose, as it cheese :) it's also full of healthy bacteria etc which is probably why you can feel it doing you good!

Lately I have been loving having my mocca blended with coconut oil (strange combo, I know, but it is great!) I usually use a vegetal milk (maybe with cow's milk it would get too heavy because of all the fat, but I've never tried), cooca coffee and a little bit of coconut oil and than blend it all togeather. The oil makes it super creamy!

I do glute bridges/ hip thrusts in the gym too if the padded thing on the bar isn’t there I will just use a thin mat and fold it over, it’s easier to do that if you use a bar though haven’t tried them with a normal weight, hope that helps!💖

try front squats: it's better for overall training effect cuz the position forces you to leave your back straight. it also activates your lower back, the abs and shoulder muscles. also if you're going to the gym daily, doing a 5 split workout plan would be more effective. if you squat/deadlift daily, your thighs/butt don't get enough time to recover, while recovery is essential for muscle growth. maybe try Mondays: shoulder, Tuesdays: legs, Wednesdays: chest, Thursdays: cardio, Friday: back

greek yoghurt is meant to have probiotics, so for many people with lactose intolerance (like me!) it can be okay. I've really gotten into almond yoghurt and ice cream though :)

So interesting to see what other people's eating habits are haha! But Mel be careful with your back during squats, deadlifts and the excercise with the resistance bands, try to protect is by not arching it (lower back as well as upper back). Just a tip to keep you from any unneccessary pain, sore muscles are plenty painful enough 😊Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to more of this series!

Am loving the Greek yogurt with fruit and nuts and chocolate and cinnamon as well.Its probably the probiotics in the Greek yogurt that helps your stomach !
