Melissa I was going at exercising really hard. Following several fitness gurus, IFBB pros. Even though I had no intention of competing, I just wanted to look like I do. Tight and buff . detesting the menopause plumping . Recently I really injured a thumb and took a break from muscle building. During the break I realized my cortisol levels had crept high on me ,I was bloated and the more I worked to get it off the more damage I was doing. Helplessly watching the scale numgoing up while seemingly doing all other things correctly. 2weeks no exercise I started loosing fluid and weight. My abdomen has magically started to cooperate. This morning 6 weeks since my injury and reduced workouts compared to before I am down 2.5 lbs and have more definition. Part of the realization of this came from you and your videos. Thank you

I am doing more protein and when I get enough I don't crave carbs or fats either. Amazing how that works! Also I don't keep any junk in my visual field because it triggers my cravings and I start searching and justifying eating junk. Plus no snacking in between meals stops the searching mode that leads me to craving sugar. 🙂

I have almost the same symptoms as everyone else here. I am 45, cannot lose not even 1 pound, even with 3 days of intermittent fasting, no carbs & no sugar on a daily basis. All of a sudden, I do not crave sugar anymore but I crave spaghetti, yet I have never liked spaghetti much ever. I am also hypothyroid & cannot find any motivation for exercise & this also affects my sleep. I do a Billy Blanks weight lifting video, 3x a week. I love his videos but still cannot see any results due to my hormones & health issues. Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated because doctors really are not addressing my issues. Last, how long should I be concerned when I don't see results?

I'm 48, and did low carb for years before hitting perimenopause. I've discovered I needed the carbs to fuel workouts. I was also eating too little calories, around 1200 which caused weight to not budge. Increased my calories to around 1600 daily. The weight is slowly coming off. I strength train 3-4x a week, HIIT cardio 2x weekly. I've increased my protein which helps with my appetite. I have absolutely no cravings when I get enough protein and eat lot's of veggies. Everything Melissa is saying absolutely works. Don't expect overnight changes, but stick with it and you will see changes. Best wishes!
@RACHELORI2 жыл бұрын
@@LifeInTheSunshine - thank you. I know I don't eat enough but that comes from years of watching calories. Some days I only eat 3 eggs & that's my one meal a day. I guess it would make sense to do the HIIT 2x a week as well.

@@RACHELORI I was so paranoid to eat carbs at first, thought I'd gain weight but it clicked when I started to feel better and lose weight. My diet is 98% whole foods, still have occasionally treats. Eating below your energy expenditure is a sure fire way to stall your weight or even gain weight ( body thinks it's starving so it holds on to fat for dear life!). You'll feel so much better eating carbs to fuel your body. Start off slowly introducing them like Melissa says and it'll be a game changer for sure.
