I see the crystal defenders trying to shift all the blame onto Square Enix every chance they get and spin the narrative that we've always known. I don't even think they deserve to have Legacy of Kain considering they stole that too from Silicon Knights. I read that the OG Blood Omen devs were shocked to see what they did with Soul Reaver as that was meant to be a different IP entirely and notice how it's Soul Reaver that got the remaster not Blood Omen? Even with LoK they diss whatever isn't theirs meanwhile BO is relegated to a port only.

I'm not entirely convinced they're up to snuff for that job. The remasters are VERY hit or miss on a lot of stuff. I can see the effort, for sure, I think that's commendable, but I would organize a community takeover. Buy off the IP into being public. And make a team of FANS that take care of it IN THE AMOUNT OF TIME THEY NEED TO GET IT RIGHT.

Aspyr was owned by Saber interactive, Saber has now been sold off to Beacon Interactive. Saber is a parent company for multiple studios. Looking at the credits it might be Saber St Petersburg or Stuntworks working on it. They may have been quiet about that to avoid boycott/Bad PR of Russian developed titles due to the current conflict. Embracer also ceased all operations in Russia in connection with the sale of Saber to Beacon.

A Russian person here, who has also lived in St Petersburg for 10 years. Confirming that this is a very "open secret" that the real technical people behind Saber are actually very very Russian. And it's them who do a lot of coding and even of porting some AAA titles to different consoles. Many channels even very popular gaming ones with just blindly credit Aspyr anytime they re-release older games for current consoles/generation without acknowledging all they do is publish it while smaller studios (chiefly Saber Interactive) or teams do the actual work. SI also handled the KOTOR and Republic Commando remakes that dropped earlier this year and end of last.

You’re right Melonie, It’s not Crystal Dynamics who’s developing the games. It’s Asypr. Although I’m glad that I found out that they added a map in the remaster of Soul Reaver 1 since Soul Reaver 2 has a map, The remaster of Soul Reaver 1 & 2 will be having a Day and Night cycle which was cut from the original games, You can toggle the graphics to the original just like Tomb Raider Remaster Trilogy Volume 1 1-3 at anytime, And they added something called a Lost Levels. But I don’t know if we’ll be able to encounter the priestess who was cut from the original, And the smokestack from Turel’s Territory and the cut reaver enhancements in Soul Reaver 1 but with a different boss instead of Turel cause Azimuth summoned him after she stole a time streaming device. And for Soul Reaver 2 I don’t know if we’ll be able to see the cut Water and Earth Reaver Enhancements which are temporary, But I don’t think the Spirit Reaver will be in the remaster cause he’ll only wield it in Defiance. And for Volume 2 of the Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy, I hope Tomb Raider 6: Angel of Darkness will finally be fixed after 21 years of technical and camera issues, And the song that I like Angel of Darkness will be in the Remastered Trilogy 4-6.

Nope. When the remasters were released, Embracer owned Crystal Dynamics, Limited Run AND Saber, so they really dont care what logos they put on the box. Saber is now a separate company, but they still working closely with Embracer and their IPs.
