My mom had a event at her home when I was about 25 years old . One of the ladies that came to it brought this dish . Here in Middle Ga we dont add the Pineapple but it doesnt matter. Strawberry salad is my absolute favorite! MeMe you remind me on my grandmother that just passed away of 99 years. She was such an amazing woman and love the lord so much! Thank you for sharing all of your dishes! It takes me back to being a kid again.

My cousin has celiac disease and tried this recipe with gluten free pretzels, but she did not like the texture. So I made her one and replaced the pretzels with 2 cups of chopped pecans with a 1/2 teaspoon of salt and she and loved it.

This is one of my favorite "salads". One trick I do when making a crust like that (including graham crackers or other cookies) is to put it in the freezer after baking it for several minutes. It helps to set it more firmly so that it's easier to add the filling on top of it.

Dip your spoon in a cup of hot water take the spoon out with no water in it, the hot water is just supposed to heat up your spoon so that the cream cheese mixture will kind of / just not stick to the spoon, so it will glide over the creamy mixture and spread it out. A cold or room temperature spoon will just have it appear to be a sticky mess, and require longer to spread out the mixture.

Ma'am, with the coolwhip, strawberries, pineapple and carbs from the pretzels the sugar-free jello doesn't make a lick of difference.
