This seems to have helped! I suffer from Meniere's, and before an attack, my left ear will get clogged up. Doing this exercise unclogged my ear when no meds would! I'll continue to do this throughout the day. Thanks!

Waoh dear, I'm sorry you had such crisis! Let us know how you feel, I keep my fingers crossed. Do the exercise tomorrow as well... and in the next days, I strongly suggest that you take the habit to do this routine as soon as you wake up: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmW4fZKrhp6dqas. The goal is to avoid that a disturbed balance would have side effects on your posture and thereby become a cause of back pain. Keep me posted, OK :) ?

Have been having clusters of Meniere's attacks for weeks now. Had an 11 hour one last week, 30 minute one last night, then woke up to vertigo today and have been dizzy all day. Just tried this and will repeat every 10-15 minutes. Doing it on the left side makes me feel dizzy, which is my suspected bad ear. Doctors think I either have Meniere's, vestibular migraines, or both. Update: It definitely helps, at least temporarily!

Tried this a couple of times as I've been having almost constant lightheadedness and tinnitus caused by PROBABLE Meniere's Disease (according to my ENT). At first, nothing happened, and I was quick to dismiss this. After about 5 mins or so, I heard a quick hissing (like pressure release, but also some sort of a tinnitus-type of sound too), and my tinnitus lessened by at least half, and my focus improved a little. Thanks for this, doc

Disclaimer: I have been taking Serc (betahistine) for the past month twice a day, 24mg to mixed avail. It hasn't been working for the past 3-4 days, and I have taken Serc about 3 hours before doing this exercise. Either way, placebo or not, this somehow (not completely) worked for me.

Hey Rachela... Meniere's disease is a great medical mystery. I can only share my experience, but please consider it only as case-based evidence: - as a prevention, this exercise done 1-2 times a day (preferably as soon as your dad wakes up) is helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmW4fZKrhp6dqas - when a crisis occurs and preventively, many people have benefited from the exercise that I show in this video of this thread. One thing I can tell you is that both these exercises have no side effects, unlike many drugs. At worst, they will be useless but they are worth trying anyway!

Dr. Girard, this simple exercise seems to be very effective even as I do it on a daily basis. I have had 5 vertigo attacks in the past 2 months lasting from 1 to 8 hours. Last night, I felt the start of a vertigo attack. I did your exercises and it seemed to lessesn severity of the attack. I didn't have a debilitating attack as the other 5 but i kept on doing the exercises then went to sleep for 8 hours. I did the exercises this morning and feel 100% now. In retrospecr, I probably had a sub clinical vertigo attack but the exercises prevented it from getting worse and debilitating. Also, important to note, I take 25-50 mg of diphenidol when I start to feel dizzy. Thank you Dr!

Hello everyone! I am trying to help my mother with Menieres. She had it for over 40 years 😢 However she managed to keep it in check, though with severe tinnitus. Its seems to me that it has to do with neck health. Her situation worsened recently, and she will have days where she is much worse, and then it releases again. She says stress makes it worse. She tells me her neck also gets stiff when she is worse. Do any of you try the Yoga for Menieres? With twists for the neck etc.? And the Bhramari breathing? Many say it helps them a lot 😌people with this disease. The Bhramari also helps with many other things as well.

These attacks can be scary indeed... The exercise with the upper cervical vertebrae is to help with crisis management. For prevention, I have good experience with a balance training exercise: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmW4fZKrhp6dqas... but: - it needs to be done as soon as you wake up (i.e. in the first 30 sec of your day) - the slower you do the movements, the better: it's not a matter of reps, but a matter of intense mental focus and incredible precision in your weight distribution, ultimately with your eyes closed (there are up to 6 steps to get there, as I explain). Thanks a lot for helping others with your experience! We're often left alone with this disease...

@OlivierGirard
@OlivierGirard 3 жыл бұрын
Man, I'm sorry that your dad is feeling so bad. It's indeed a distressful condition (that's experience talking here!). I cannot judge the validity of what the doctors and others say, but I can give you 2 pieces of advice: - tell him to test the exercise that I demonstrate, 3 times a day: at worst, it will be useless; - to limit the compression in the upper cervical vertebrae (0'40''), your dad has to beware slumped postures looking straight forward. Typically, if he leans on his forearms but looks straight in front of him, this will strain the upper neck (I have explained this in another video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6eTfamGptuJedU). Hence, make sure that when he sits, he has a good lumbar support to bear his weight. Let me know if it helps!!

Since I use this and the balance routine (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmW4fZKrhp6dqas) every day, I don't need any medication anymore but that does not mean that it will be enough for everyone. Waoh, that's amazing news! Again, I would say... so many people report feeling great after this exercise! There's one more which I find useful to prevent the crises (i.e. to be done every morning when you wake up: you won't feel any instant benefits but on the long run it will help you a lot) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmW4fZKrhp6dqas. As I say in the video, it's a precision and focus exercise, which helps mobilize neuroplasticity. Don't try and go quickly around the corner otherwise you'll loose all the benefits of it: it's a slow exercise, and there's barely any movement. It's all about what you feel...

This I tried during what I call my austronaut phase. I’ve been having mini vertigo episodes where I feel like someone spinning in zero g gravity. It’s not super slow but it it’s not so fast that I can’t concentrate. I do not have any cervical issues to my knowledge.
