I did the same on my E63 wagon but then had to go back and add in an H-pipe, like was inside the resonator, because without a crossover of some kind the exhaust pulses can't equalize and it made the exhaust (and car) shake too much for my liking. It made it feel like it had a misfire at idle. The H didn't really change the sound that much but an added benefit is it did get rid of some of the "fluttery" sound at idle. Either way, the exhaust sounds much better w/o the resonator.

On idle it’s sounds not clean but more fluffy/drone , X pipe after the cuts will get better flow and cleaner sound on idle if you do H pipe better to place it in middle for nicer sound
