Mercedes w204 C250 SIM271DE2.0 ECM no communication. Repair, then clone with HexProg.

A common issue with the Mercedes C250 is a failing Engine Control Module ECM. The ECM fails to send the ground signal to the starter relay resulting in a no crank situation. When the computer fails you will get dash instrument cluster lights on. It is different from the ESL no crank situation in this way. With a failed ESL you will not get dash lights. If you have dash lights but still not cranking, there is a strong possibility you have a bad ECM.
