Mercedes W220 S500 S430 Parking Emergency Brake Pedal Not Sticking

This is a simple fix where the latch or hook comes off loose. Instead of a costly bill to replace the entire brake assembly, simply just move the latch back to its place. This procedure applies to many Mercedes Benz models and is not limited to the W220.

You are life saver man! I was facing the same problem with my E220d, W212 from last 6+ months. After watching this video, I went into the car and literally used my finger to lift and pull the "Pedal retaining clip" and with slight push it fall into its place. In total 10 second job to be honest. Cheers.

Excellent info. Thanks. May I respectfully suggest that WD40 is a penetrant NOT primarily a lubricant (read the can). I use TRIFLOW or PB Blaster both of which are hi end lubricants. That being said, ANY lubricant is better than NO lubricant.

Hi Masood, Great video I literally have the same issue on my C63 2013 W204 model. The hand break (foot) does this exact same thing. That said the hand break hatchet lever has also become loose and sticks out makes me wonder its become disconnected from the metal rod/wire. Would you said the same things has happened to mine on the hand break?

Hi Maneck, yes, the loose and sticking out handbrake is a symptom of this issue. Remove the covers and have a look to confirm.

Not necessarily, but you have to get close in and see what happens when you press the foot brake and as you release it with the handle....
