today I performed the 600 mile initial service on my 2023 V-Strom 1050. Torquing each of the chasis bolts to spec gave me even more appreciation of the overall design than riding the first 1000km did. I love how Suzuki strikes the balance between performance and elegance in simplicity. I say this as an engineer.

Suzuki, 3 letters, KTM. Build the V-Strom Adventure line with the KTM's all around performance, especially the off road abilities, horsepower, and lighter weight. As a Suzuki, it also have to be an excellent, comfortable distance bike. Then add the reasons that I buy Japanese bikes; Japanese dependability, durability, ease of maintenance, easy to repair, reliability, availability of parts almost anywhere in the world, a great ride, and generally inspired confidence. There, you have it. I have the cash ready to purchase it; I just haven't seen it at the local dealer. Until then, I'll continue to ride my V-Strom 650XT daily.

Had mine for a month now and got to say "wow Suzuki wow" this bike is so much fun. TFT not required, electronic suspension not required. This bike is true fun. The torque is almost making my helmet crack with a beaming smile. Get back to basics commentators I've had the all singing TE models BMW's and they're not as good as this. The old V Strom was a good reliable bike and I had a TL1000R for 7 years without a single problem so I have no doubt that this bike will be as good. Mines the yellow one and I just love standing back and looking at it before I blat down some country roads dart into a few muddy back roads then whip it up to a ton on the open road.

Hi Suzuki, if you read this, please take these words with my Gratitude. It's a fantastic bike but has a few flaws maybe you can address. 1-Has a throttle dip before waking up which is annoying. 2-Gearbox still feels clunky 3-Vibrations anywhere over 4.5k RPM are really bad. You get numb hands and private parts go numb due to excessive vibration and possible seating position. 4-The pegs really are in the way of when you need to stop at lights. If you addressed all these issue it would honestly be the prefect bike. I do have a 2020 and was thinking of getting the 2024 but not sure if things have been improved.

As an owner of the current 1000XT I congratulate Suzuki on the electronics package it looks like all changes we wanted. We also wanted the heated seat option, so that was a missed opportunity! As for the chassis, engine, suspension, wheels, brakes, well that is a big disappointment as it's still the same as my current XT. Looks great, but not enough improvements for me to trade up. Anyone starting out and looking for a big ADV, the Suzuki makes for a great value proposition.

As a guy who runs my 2017 650XT both on-road and heavily off-road, I feel like they really missed the mark. We already have expensive, high performing litre bikes from KTM and Honda, and I think they'll see the negative effects of trying to join this litre bike race in their sales in the coming year. I think the draw towards V-strom for most people has been the lower price and reliability, which we're moving away from as we start to incorporate lots of new, expensive and complicated tech. Some slight modifications to the 650XT to make a more off-road focused model: Slight suspension improvement, some more off-road focused tires, and a decent skid plate would really sell in the current market.

Suzuki, thanks for sharing this. You really did do a great job which is noticed. Concerning me, I've never thought of an adventure motorcycle before but the new DL1050XT V-Strom hits the nail perfectly on its head. Best adventure sports tourer there is. - Nevertheless, I ended up getting a GSX1250FA. Because of its supreme and superb inline-4 and the style of motorcycle I just like best. This bike deserves to be saved as long as possible.

I was really looking for this bike to maybe upgrade my Vstrom 1000 2019 XT. Iam disappointed since the power is more or less the same (maybe worse since tourque at 6.000 before 4.000) and more weight like 15 kilograms more for XT. And no TFT for 2020 as the only company (390 KTM Adventure has one).

I was riding an r1200gs and then bought a new 1050xt. In the end, I have both. Although they are of the same genre, they have different personalities, so both are fun to ride. I think Suzuki wins in terms of mechanical perfection. If you drive a Suzuki and then a BMW, there are times when you become convinced that there is a problem with the BMW engine. I think Suzuki definitely has the perfect engine and body. Instead, BMW can go off-road and over long distances of 1000 km more comfortably than Suzuki. Overall, I think there is something more attractive about Suzuki as we see more use of it. BMW has better maintainability. In order to change the air cleaner, you only need a few nuts for BMW, but for Suzuki you need to remove various parts. Even when adjusting the engine valve clearance, BMW is definitely easier to maintain in that you can see the valve by just unscrewing four nuts. But I think it's okay to be a little annoying once every two years. I am writing to express my gratitude to Suzuki. Thank you, Suzuki. And I applaud you for continuing to create great work. Even though I am over 50 age, I still want to ride Enzengan Hayabusa. Fighting Suzuki

Africa twin and 800gs can't pull the skin off rice pudding. It is more road but will happily do muddy/gravel country roads / fire roads. Suzuki knew 99% of big adventure bikes don't do much more than that.

I can't believe you kept showing the old bikes as inspiration, and then building this. Look at the seat. One long seat so you can move around. Yet this has a two part seat that locks you in one position. The old bikes had giant tanks, but that's because they needed long range. Not as a styling feature. You've redesigned the engine several times yet kept the oil filter right where rocks hit it. It seems like you've kept all the worst things from the previous model and added all the worst things from the 1980's. I'll be keeping my 2016 XT650 thanks.

The new VStrom looks like it will do well in the market, but I will not be turning in my DL1000K2 for it. 1- What is wrong with symmetry? The low single exhaust can is absolutely terrible for a machine that has touring aspirations, as the one bag will always be significantly smaller than the other (not an issue on my K2). 2- Headlights. Why did Suzuki ever go away from the absolute best headlamps in the industry in favour of the over-and-under rig, and now this new one that looks like it came off a Harley!? 3- Ground clearance. My K2 is a little low for any serious dirt travel, an extra 25-50mm is all that it would take, since these large machines are not likely going to be ridden on hard single-track. 4- Seat height. This is an issue with all current bikes, not just the ADV segment. There is nothing available for those with shorter inseam! Lowering kits are not a real solution as they create more problems with the handling and vehicle dynamics than they solve. 5- Electronic package. I may be in the minority here, but current bikes have become too heavily invested in onboard electronics. The sheer complexity and adjustability gets in the way of the riding experience, and becomes a nightmare when travelling, if there is any kind of a failure. An ABS switch is certainly needed, instead of working around the issue by having to pull a fuse. Why cannot the Motorcycle industry move into the current century by standardizing the computer interface and use the same OBD2 port that automobiles have been now using for 25 years?

Had Suzuki spent as much money researching consumer expectations as on advertising spin, the 2020 may have been a huge hit. As an owner of three new ‘Stroms (‘09, ‘12, ‘15) I eagerly waited for the 2020. In my experienced and not so humble opinion, this offering falls way below expectations. The relatively weak area of my previous ‘Stroms (suspension) hasn’t even been tweaked, and what has been lightly altered (engine, brakes) is, at best, only a marginal improvement compared to previous ‘Stroms. Worse than that, the “new” offering falls well below the competition. The LED instrument pod is a decade out of date - embarrassing, the old analog/LED from the 14 - 19 models is much more useful and attractive. So, it’s goodbye from this loyal Stromtrooper; thanks for the memories, you were a fine friend but, sadly, it’s time to move on.

@tcpiptv5 жыл бұрын
The design of the new V-Strom is definitely a step in the right direction. I would encourage Suzuki designers to digest the design of Tesla's new CyberTruck. This is what you need to be emulating - a modernist futurist design with defined sleek lines and large geometric shapes whilst overall being minimalist. Motorbikes should look like proper machines and not be made to have human or animal "faces" such as with the Aprillia RS660 (a cat) and Ducati's new V4 and V2 Panigale (The Joker).
