i loved the point connecting the crime dramas being "so fake" with the personal life story of the day always somehow relating to the crime of the day, and then realizing that you were doing the same thing with your consulting clients. i've also been stewing on this point of how life seems to overtime look more and more like a story in its "fakeness"! i look back at some things in my life and it's bizarre how events seem to be placed into the story of my life to give me all the exact tools that i just happen to need now etc etc... i know several people (including myself) that have done the exercise of "write a list of specific things you want in a partner" (or something similar), then toss the list away somewhere and forget about it, and then everything comes true at some point later in a very bizarre way. it's like the human desire to fit into a narrative is so strong that it bends reality.
