I went back to one of my honey holes where I have found tons of old coins. What was an old dirt road in the late 1800s to early 1900s is now just an over grown field.

I like the Pin that you found. Harbord Collegiate is one of Toronto's oldest High Schools. Always great finds Mike!

DrumnDetect thanks! Lol I don’t mind if it’s muddy as long as I get something good
Congrats! Awesome hunt! Old dirt roads abandoned long ago seem like gold mines for old coins. I’ll bet most were dropped from people on horseback or on wagons. That would be enough to shake anything loose!

kepvalley thanks! And yes they are gold mines. They are my favourite types of places to detect. Always exciting to see what you’ll find when detecting these old dirt roads

Good finds in these 1912 quarters. Check the merc for mint mark. 1924 S is a key date.

Hello History Hunter..I want all that ! I am getting a little discouraged using my Bounty Hunter IV, can you maybe ,without "endorsement" possibly suggest a step up in the 500 dollar range? I really enjoy hunting, but too many nails and pop tops. Thank you, and I think you're awesome.

carol mcleod thank you! I’m not exactly sure about other metal detectors in the $500 range but if your gonna pay $500 you might as well pay just a bit more to get a really good machine like the minelab equinox 600 that is I think $800. Or the Garrett at pro that is $600 I think. With every machine you will dig nails, pull tabs but trust me with the equinox 600 you will dig barely any trash compared to the way you do now. That is my honest opinion. The Garrett at pro is still a good machine but the numbers are very jumpy and isn’t as good at discriminating trash. However the equinox is very good at finding silver but not the best at finding relics and recent coins. It depends what your mainly searching for. The at pro is better for finding relics and the equinox is better for finding silver. If you need more help or have any more questions just let me know :)

carol mcleod , I have used many different brands. Unfortunately, Tesoro no longer available. In my opinion, the best bang for buck is Teknetics Delta 2000. Good luck. What part of the country are you located. Bye from Al on PEI

@@alanjameson2822 hi Alan, first I want to say..hope you and yours are safe after Hurricane Dorian .I live in King City..about a 20 minute drive North of Toronto.I rent a little coachhouse on a property "founded" in 1870..I kinda jumped on a Canadian Tire clearance yesterday, and bought a Bounty Hunter quick draw pro. I love the "hunting", but obviously have little patience. Thank you for your suggestions, I will let you know how I do with it. Happy Hunting Alan

Ok, I have made a big mistake. This machine sucks.! First it says something good here, start digging...keep digging...and digging! Then it says nothin here.I use my other machine, and my pin pointer, nothing but dirt. I am now going to go to maybe Bass Pro ? and take some time, and the advice from you and Mr History Hunter. Thanks gentlemen, I will let you know how I do. Yeesh
