Merrill, I'm all in for 1000 likes. And when you said "I'm all in on beach detecting" my thought was, I'm benefiting because Merrill is all in, and then you say, " I think we all will benefit. That was exactly what I was thinking. Merrill, you showed me how to detect the beach, doing your "V's". It worked for me. I found a patch. Funny, I was doing V's finding good stuff, and I see my buddy walking in a straight line, along the water's edge, and he later says to me, let's go, there's nothing here. He is king in the dry sand, so who am I to say, no I don't want to leave, your not doing "V's" so your not finding good stuff? V's don't always work, but when they do, I say to myself, thank you Merrill. I didn't forget, I hit the "like button". Oh by the way, I think I heard Philip the NOX say a Coiltek will allow you to go two inched deeper, so I ordered one, and just now put it on my NOX and after watching this video, I'm headed out to see if I can find some good stuff in that park I've been detecting for years. BYE

@jeanponce20172 жыл бұрын
A lot of the rain off (the rain that gets drained off the land to the surf) will almost always make the water dirty. After a rain that dirtied up the water often leaves a thick layer of very soft sand that holds water and air if the tide retracts slowly. When you walk on it it's soft and air is bubbling out from it. That is difficult to detect for a couple of reasons. 1 because it's so light targets are usually down deep unless it's lite like foil or of pieces of aluminum. So I often skip those spots and find a cut very close just above or below those spots. In the water that you can't see from the land there are channels or cuts that allows the water from waves to pull back out faster then other spots. It's also where there is a lot of undertow in the summer. Striper fisherman look for those spots because it's where bait fish gets pulled out and those sand fleas are dug up. So those fishing spots can open cuts or also leave a thick layer of silty sand from land and it might pull something from the dunes down. Those spots you'll notice more fishing lead also. Also when there's not a cut and it's thick soft damp sand VLF detectors false a lot because it's hard to maintain a good ground balance unlike a PI which doesn't care ( lol) how many minerals are in the ground. Those are your coins to do as you see fit. Have you ever tried using an ultrasonic cleaner? It is much less harsh on coins then cleaning them with a Dremel or even a tumbler. Or even a quick, very quick zap with using electrolysis will release the encrustation and sand particles then put in a ultrasonic cleaner or a tumbler. But pretty much all of the coins from the Atlantic are pitted where it's almost hard to ruin a coin cleaning it when the Atlantic already kind of ruined it. Unless it's gold there no kind of it has ruined it as a coin. I have used a Dremel on common silver coins because they're basically worth silver spot price so that isn't gonna get damaged. But congratulations on the finds I hope you keep doing well. I can just imagine how many coins and rings were lost at Coney Island aline that are surfing up that shore line. It's like Atlantic City in south Jersey or Cape May and Wildwood. 15 guys could hunt it to death and I can go out there on the end of an out going tide as a storm just passed and hit a cut that seems like it's new virgin ground. Then 2 days later it's buried, pulled out further or it's pushed up the shoreline. It might be gone at that moment but some point it time it'll roll (ring) or surf (coin) up on the beach somewhere else for a brief moment unless one of us detectorists nail it. Sometimes you can see coins on top surfing back towards the water with your eyes. My dad showed me this and he taught me when to look for this. It happens mostly when the tide is pulling out and dragging sand but a strong Noreaster wind is blowing the top of the ways up that creates a hydroplane type of a situation on coins. Mostly nickels, quarters & the occasional half. He first took me to point pleasant beach in 1979 when detectors were very primitive. When we walked over the dunes there was a lady with a kids toy beach pale running around snatching them like crazy. No BS she had about an inch thick of black crusty coins with a couple newer ones. She beat us out there that morning and somehow also knew about this and she didn't have a detector. We still wound up with more then 20 silvers that detector saw and she didn't. Back then that detector didn't go very deep in salty sand either. I found my first gold ring that day at 16 years old and I became a treasure hunter for life that day. It was a 1941 Navy ring. My dad hunted down the person he had passed away but he located the daughter and I'd bet she still has it or maybe passed it down if she had kids. I don't have to tell you but you learn a lot about history researching a lot of finds and make friends for life when a long lost school ring finds it's way back to who lost it and gave up ever seeing it again decades ago. Good Luck hunting this year

Lol it's funny because much of what you mentioned in the beginning i am going through.I been hitting the NJ beaches every week on a warm...er day.Im.1 1/2 hour drive away.I have fell into the trap of " My favorite beach" and did notice a Rock formations that can be seen on low tide then i came back @ low tide i was like where are the Rocks? Obviously the ocean added sand.I thing the NYC beaches has advantages more people , history but also the wind.A wind from the south can produce more due to how the beach is situated.Intresting video....I'll ask if you can answer i appreciate....I saw when you 1st got your Nox in a video the person you were with said "use Beach 2" i find i like beach 1 .....2 seems more sensitive but with no interference i can up the sensitivity....So your opinion beach 1 or 2 matter of preference or ?

My dear friend. Go Africa. I'm a South African man working in Ireland. But from the moment I set foot in Ireland, I felt sorry for the people around here. There isn't anything here to compare to the hard dangerous life. To give an good example. I grew up machine gun in hand from age 10. Milking cows, chopping fire wood, first sign of electrical ingenuity at the age of 22. Fought the bloody Bush war in Angola. Operating a oil rig in Congo and Angola and South Africa. Driving trucks over 15 countries. Working in the deepest m gold mines in the world,,, 3800 meter below surface. Hijacked many times in big trucks consisting of 36 wheels (hard to get away from a BMW) still running strong. Married nearly 38 years now. Dump this clueless life in urope. You miss out my man. Come Africa. Feel the bite of a scorpion. Experience the agony of a snake bite, and the doctor asks you to describe the snake???... Feel the feeling of driving from rainforest to Storm mountain in 3 hours, to driving to remote dessert in another 4 hrs. There is nothing here to compare to Africa
