Pete wants a long deal and i wish him the best.....but he's not going to get it in Queens. Every GM knows that first baseman don't age well. I really want him back but he can't possibly expect to be accommodated as if he is the answer to a World Series championship. He's a nice piece to the puzzle. I've always been an Alonso supporter and that hasn't changed but he's got to understand that the Mets aren't his enemy in these negotiations. They're simply trying to make this team a contender for years in the future. If he can bag a bigger deal by leaving New York i wish him all the best and id be sorry to see him go......but the Mets are trying to make him a wealthy man at a fair market value. How much is enough?? Pete has to find piece of mind answering that question. If hes feeling resentment over these negotiations hed be better off going elsewhere. Resentments will do no good for his future in NY.

Signing Soto was all Cohen. I doubt Stearns, left on his own would've done it. Stearns wants to make moves to have himself get the credit. He seems to have a huge ego for a guy who has no rings. This teams needs to improve the pen, add a starter, Stearns won't spend to get these things, The offer he made Pete is a joke, he knows he won't accept that, offer 5 years 135 million, that puts him amongst the highest paid 1st. basemen. Cohen better get on Stearns ass and tell him finish improving this team, because right now, despite Soto they're not better.

Somewhat new fan to the show but I've been enjoying it. Just a couple things though, you've brought up trading for Yu Darvish a few times but he has a no trade clause. Also I don't understand why some people don't want Bregman. He hasn't struck out over 100 times ever in his career, he averages 20+ homeruns a year and he's a recent gold glove winner. I'm also trying to find the stats I saw but they broke it down and he would average basically the same amount of homeruns at Citi as he did in Houston. He would be a great pick up though and definitely an immediate upgrade. Just not understanding the hate towards picking him up. 🤷🏻♂️
