MGMT can do any genre hands down. They are every musical genre. They are MGMT. They are sound.

They're geniuses and they keep recreating themselves into something new and amazing instead of repeating their first string of hits from album 1 which the non-MGMT fans will say they are no longer the same, music's not as good which is really funny because it's quite the opposite if you've payed attention to MGMT over the years. LDA became a Tik Tok cult classic, it's funny when the album came out in 2018 it was mildly popular for a short time but not really and 2 years later in 2020 it became a thing again.

"I am Taliesin. I sing perfect metre, Which will last to the end of the world. My patron is Elphin... I know why there is an echo in a hollow; Why silver gleams; why breath is black; why liver is bloody; Why a cow has horns; why a woman is affectionate; Why milk is white; why holly is green; Why a kid is bearded; why the cow-parsnip is hollow; Why brine is salt; why ale is bitter; Why the linnet is green and berries red; Why a cuckoo complains; why it sings; I know where the cuckoos of summer are in winter. I know what beasts there are at the bottom of the sea; How many spears in battle; how may drops in a shower; Why a river drowned Pharaoh's people; Why fishes have scales. Why a white swan has black feet... I have been a blue salmon, I have been a dog, a stag, a roebuck on the mountain, A stock, a spade, an axe in the hand, A stallion, a bull, a buck, A grain which grew on a hill, I was reaped, and placed in an oven; I fell to the ground when I was being roasted And a hen swallowed me. For nine nights was I in her crop. I have been dead, I have been alive. I am Taliesin." - Anonymous Welsh - 13th century - translated by Ifor Williams

Do you remember when we were Kids? We were carefree and excited. We took the Time To Pretend each day and we dreamed of the future. As we got older we sought to discover who we were and let go of childhood ideas. We experimented with chemicals and thought to ourselves “Its working”. We were however accused of changing. We thought of it as authentic personality. It didn’t matter we lost friends and popularity. Now we looked and sounded different than before. Many people no longer wanted to hang out or even listen to us. We were still figuring things out and spent hours in quiet Introspection asking ourselves the big questions: Why are we here? and what happens When You Die? We sat with these thoughts. Depression set in. We felt like such disappointments. We separate. Then one day sitting on your couch eating ice cream the phone rings. You weren’t ready for this. Sure you had talked about it, read every book you could get your hands on and even came up with some catchy tunes about the topic. But this was your first real encounter with a loved ones Loss Of Life. What now? How do you move on? What’s the future hold? Unless someone takes the first step into a difficult situation, they’ll never know the beauty of coming out the other side.

@@tamie341Be kind man. Sadly there are lots of people with similar shared delusions living in constant worry over an embedded idea that everyone is an evil sinner who will burn for eternity unless they blindly follow a particular belief. I know the feeling too well. It took years to deprogram. One thing I wish I was able to convey without the instant write off of following Satan or just being mad at God. (I’ve gotten used to those responses) is I wish I was able to share the feeling of relief and calm that happened when I accepted that it was ok I no longer had those beliefs. And that I’m not a bad person of a misguided soul. In fact I’ve never felt so close to others. When you remove religion from the world you remove the preconceived idea that entire societies are wrong and going to hell. Ie evil. When in reality what you’ve done because of your religious view is you’ve taken a new born baby and placed him in the arms of Satan for eternal suffering. All because that innocent child was born in the “wrong” country. I will not pretend to be the same as others I’ve known my whole life even if it makes my immediate family worry. I cannot pretend to be someone who lives in judgment of others and fear of eternal self preservation
