Lots of respect Broncos - you show the best "what not to do" videos! It never ceases to amaze me that people will spend so much for the vessel and accoutrement, yet won't consider just a few bucks for a training course. The USCGA Boating Skills & Seamanship course is not simple, but not difficult - it just takes dedication and pride, and probably the CHEAPEST tool a boat owner can buy, but certainly one of the most important!!! When I see someone fling a knotted line at the dock I cringe...heck even the dogs (K9s) onboard are nervous!

"Florida Man" docking procedure: 1: Slam dock opposite of the one you should have picked. 2: Slam throttles with engines turned the wrong way. 3: Bounce off closest boat on your way backing out. 4: Repeat steps 1-3 at least once. 5: Get close enough to a dock (even if by accident) for a passenger to grab a pole with their finger tips from the bow. 6: Cap must leave the helm with boat in gear while attempting to grab another post. 7: Race back to helm to shift to neutral. 8: start looking for dock lines and begging for someone (hopefully on the dock) to catch at least one of them (assuming you find two that are useable). 9: Yell at whoever is trying to help and blame them for doing it wrong. 10: Go get truck and learn how to back trailer. 11: (optional) Tell everyone you learned all you know from watching Miami Boat Ramps on YT! 🤣

You forgot: tie to the dock with 6 or 8 people aboard, then get in your truck, drive through McDonald's and stop by Walmart before actually getting your boat out of the water. Bonus points if you break out food and drink at the dock, load or unload a mountain of gear, and get into a protracted argument with someone who wants to use the facility for its intended purpose... launching and loading

Could you add an "Expert of the Day" clip to your videos? Someone that nails the docking like it is no big deal. The what not to do segment is entertaining but it might be helpful for people to see how it is properly done. The contract of how easy it should be vs how many problems people have would entertaining as well.

It never ceases to amaze me at how many boat owners think that a boat steers like a car. Nobody and I mean nobody gets a free ride on my boat, you will be assigned tasks and if you fail to perform them you do not get on again. Launching and docking a boat is way too much work for one person, unless it's a kayak or Jon boat.

The boat having trouble being pulled out at around 06:00... when it backed (slid?) back in the water, take a look at the rear of it. You can just barely make it out past the boat docking... it gets awful deep. Was it strapped down already and the trailer was heavy enough to maybe actually pull the side below the waterline?

35 years experience, never once tied to a dock for launching or loading, always made sure at least one other person knew how to back the trailer or drive the boat onto it. Unless you're solo, tying to the launch ramp dock is considered a major bonehead move at any place I've ever launched. It simply isn't tolerated, by marina staff, the Sheriff's patrol, and especially, other boaters.

Yup. The only thing funnier is when I see someone pushing a rope. The other funny is when they've wrapped the rope around the post way too loose, then try to pull the boat in but the rope obviously won't slide around the post. They usually give it several hard pulls before realizing that they have to unwrap it, pull the boat in, then re-wrap it. One other funny is when they throw the rope onto the dock as if it's going to magically give them something to pull against.
