As I’ve gotten older, though I do still like some angst with handsome male characters, I like when it manifests into hurt/comfort potential (and getting to see them overcome their demons & heal & be genuinely happy) and/or if they’re hiding their pain behind a smile & charisma & humour & charm (I think because that way it feels like even though they’re hurt inside they’re much less likely to hurt others as well, unlike for example Miguel). It was just so entertaining seeing people fall for this guy on a global scale. You got Miguel ASMRS, fanarts, fan/original character Spidermen/women ocs paired with him. I mean from the very first time I saw the guy on screen, I knew immediately from there on that people would go CRAZY for him. Dude is crazy. Barely looks put together, but somehow he makes it work.I both love and hate (in a good way) his character at the same time. Miles defending himself from him was so satisfying!

As an asexual hobby artist not thirsting for him, I think the hype was actually pretty helpful for me because instead of being attracted I was really intrigued to try out drawing him for practice purposes - Like you have some guiding lines over his face during some shots and after having him on my for you page for weeks I decided to try and draw him and it was the first time I drew a bulky muscular guy with a somewhat satisfying result. Not thirsting but actually appreciating his built over here as drawing practice material 🤗 I also got over my same face syndrome drawings by watching the movies and using some shots of Miguel, Peter B., and Uncle Aaron as further practice material to get a grip of face shapes that aren't exclusively Manga-type girls- If we didn't have the Miguel thirst posts going viral I wouldn't have been so tempted to step out of my comfort drawing zone

I'm a comic reader so knew abour Miguel for years and made an ungodly noise when he was being teased at at the end of the first movie. I just knew this was going to happen because damn he already did that to me just as a drawing that didn't move. Holy shit that man just is something else. I've been a spider people fan for about 20 or so years now and Miguel is definitely one of the hotter ones.
