As a huge believer in letting the workers know who is the boss i keep doing the same. As you can see this has brought out Mike as a good stand-up comic. If I had not acted the way I acted then Mike wouldn't have achieved what he has achieved today."

Jordan Schlansky is the perfect straight man for Conan's humor. Conan has the attention span of a runner in a 50 yard dash, whereas Schlansky's replies are generally in the 5k range. There's probably not a better known producer, I'm glad Conan invites us into his repartee with JS. Always worth the view time.

The first time I saw Jordan I knew is Zen personality was due to the fact that he is a master of The Tao Te Ching. His ability to be in stillness with all the chaos Conan creates is evidence that he practices Wu Wei and has mastered these ancient disciplines. Along with the other "various production related tasks"...

I don't know about the philosophy, but from how he carried himself in the uncut "Kaisekki Dinner" remote, I could tell he has done martial arts. He knew how to carry himself a certain way, and he did, indeed win more of the regard of the waitress in that remote with his discipline, controlled movement, and respect for the culture. It was then that I realized he is a martial artist. Conan sort of floundered a bit, as can be seen in the uncut version, at competing with that level of composure with a traditional Japanese lady that didn't necessarily even know who he was. The version that eventually made air was artfully edited to make it seem like Conan had the upper hand in that dinner. He didn't. Fascinating stuff.
