Foreigners Try MARTABAK for the FIRST TIME! 🇮🇩 Bandung, Indonesia Vlog

In today's Indonesia vlog, we make a quick stop in the city of Bandung. With only one day to explore, we headed straight to Jalan Braga, a historical street known for its eclectic mix of influences which earned Bandung the nickname the 'Paris of Java'. Unfortunately, we didn't find much open aside from a few restaurants and cafes, so instead, we made our way to a local restaurant in search of their famous Yamin noodles and avocado smoothies.
Afterward, we stopped by Gedung Sate to people-watch before taking an afternoon nap and eventually ending the night at Sudirman Street, a lively culinary center serving Chinese & Indonesian street food where we tried culinary delights such as nasi babi woku, cucur, cakwe, and our new favorite dessert, martabak manis for the first time.
Exploring Bangund didn't go quite the way we planned, but with so little time to explore, we'll definitely be back. The people we met and the food we tried left us craving for more, and we can't wait to return.

I am happy that U love our delicacy here in Indonesia. We have around 6600 different kind of food. Different region they have their own unique kind of food. Some of sweet, some of savoury, some combined. For martabak, we have 2 types of martabak. 1 is the sweet martabak, U should ask combination of peanuts, sesame seed, chocolate, cheese (that is the best combo) and 2 is the savoury martabak called MARTABAK TELUR (eggs: options are chicken egg or duck eggs) Well, enjoy guys!

You should try the combination of chocolate, peanuts, and cheese martabak. Maybe it's a weird combo for westerners to eat chocolate and cheese, but they are perfect. The saltiness of the cheese kinda balance the sweetness of the chocolate.

There are still many beautiful tourist attractions to visit on the island of Answerarat, beautiful cities with the best food. Such as Bandung, Garut, Tasik, Ciamis, Pangandaran, Sumedang, etc. I hope you both are always healthy... Well, martabak is well known national delicacy! Even it is recommended to bring martabak (savory or sweet version) if you're visiting your boy/girlfriend house and giving it to their parents (such an ultimate move for winning parents approval for date!) 😂. Martabak is one of the most iconic dessert in Indonesia, mostly local people sell it from the afternoon to the midnight, and there're so many types of martabak according to their origin such as Martabak Bangka and Martabak Bandung. That vendor put the butter too much. But you must try the original one with chocolate and cheese, that is the best selling all over the country. The mixture of chocolate and cheese is not common in the western world, which is why they don't know that the combination of the two is an amazing delicacy. The key is the type of cheese used, only use cheddar cheese, not any other type of cheese. Will blow your mind! All foreigners who try chocolate and cheese for the first time always say wow, the taste is beyond your imagination. Let's try again while you are still in Indonesia. Agree with you guys, Martabak Manis, in some place called "Terang Bulan", is one of best desert we have, it's chewy, soft, savory and sweetness are kind of mixed perfectly. Just don't eat it too much,... it's so oily, not so good for health on long term.

The Yamin in Bandung is something I've had when I was 19 yrs old and now I'm close to 47. I wanna go back and have it again, because until this day, I'm always talking about that dish.
