Hey mike, i used to practice beginner freestyle on my double kick street board and i just recently got your pro model to get more into freestyle, i just have 2 questions; how long do your wheels usually last you? And also over time practicing fingerflips and pogo, my finger tips will end up bleeding, do your finger tips ever get tougher against the grip? Haha
@feliloki77 жыл бұрын
SIXSTRINGSLAYERS your fingers will develop thicker skin after like 4 months just like playing guitar
@mike_osterman17 жыл бұрын
+SIXSTRINGSLAYERS my wheels last me maybe one month. I do a lot of coconut wheelies, so those tend to wear them out As for fingers, you can try taping your fingertips with athletic tape. Hockey stick tape works really well too. Your hands may get a little tougher, you'll likely wear off any callouses that you develop

Hey Mike, I know you've done several vids or parts of vids on 'walk the dog' and you always mention that you rough down the centre of the grip tape and others cut a hole in it. Can you explain how you rough down the centre? Also how tight are your wheel bearings? I am wondering whether its better to have tighter wheels while learning the basics sort of like using skater trainers
@mike_osterman17 жыл бұрын
+Alex R Avery oh yeah! I use scrap pieces of grip tape to wear down the grip. I just rub the scrap piece around on the board
@mike_osterman17 жыл бұрын
+Alex R Avery I don't find skater trainers or tight wheels very helpful for footwork, just because these tricks become difficult when you're unable to roll. Trying footwork that way may help you to practice the foot positioning, but pivoting will ultimately be much more difficult
@alexravery84397 жыл бұрын
Ahh, ok. That makes a lot of sense. atm I am struggling with overcoming the fear of the board shooting out from underneath me. I tend to use skater trainers on one of the trucks so, when walking the dog, when I land it doesn't roll away. I wanna find someone in the UK near to where I live who knows what they are doing and can help me out. Have you ever thought about having people send you videos of what they are doing and you commentate on how they can improve?
