Until there is a way to determine CTE while a player is still living we'll never know .Once a player does get to the professional level , chances are he already played 8 to 10 years of youth , high school , college football . I played , I loved it I still do love it . The players have gotten bigger , stronger , faster .But the playing field is still the same dimensions ( for the most part ) I'd like to see if there could be a trial using a wider , and a bit longer field by extending the EZ by say 2 yards , including moving the goal post back the same . Most everyone would prefer seeing a TD instead of what has become a ho hum 50 yd FG attempt .It won't be long before 60 yard attempts are routine . The KO return has disappeared which was a really violent aspect .But the width of the field should IMO explored .I know folks don't thing that adding I regular season game ( from 16 to 17 is a big deal) but that 17th game is just an another added " exhibition " game .With teams either being out of contention or teams that have clinched POs testing their starters ) but ...Just an observation .

Exactly, I didn’t even know he knock him out of 2 games. People people seemed to forget AB never had a troubled pass. This craziness has only been going the last few years. Unlike other players like randy moss who really had trouble pass.

It's a good example of why they need to give players three strikes and then they're out of the league. Burfect gave the league plenty of chances to do the right thing, and they still refuse to kick him out. If the NFL professes players safety then they need to do something about players like burfict, not years later but immediately.

@@JBFBITCH number one, dude, there’s no reason to start insulting other sports fans for no reason. Number 2, look at how low he went against Ben, or how he keeps twisting ankles. I wish the NFL had hits like they used to, but there’s a difference between a clean, badass hit, and being a prick. Yes Lewis hit people, hit them hard enough to regret getting up that morning, but I don’t ever recall him twisting ankles or mocking people for causing injuries. Look at when Lawrence Taylor ended that QB’s career. He wasn’t getting up in the faces of the QB’s teammates, he was freaking the hell out over what he had done. Your point makes no sense, again, there’s a difference between being a hard hitter, and being a dirty hitter.

Nah, Mark Schlereth was the “dirtiest” player in the NFL... I mean rumor has it that during his playing career, the dude would just pee himself during games if he had to go, even if he was in the game or sitting on the bench.

@@CallMeMicahT According to multiple articles, his old nickname “Stink” is partially due to his habit of peeing his pants if he needed to go during a game in his playing days. The nickname originally stemmed from “Stinkheads” which are rotten fish heads in Alaska, but his habit of not holding it in during games really cemented it.

Brown had issues before that. They just got worse and worse after. I don't think it's the cause but it sure didn't help. And the Steelers might of won the SB that year if Brown wasn't out. They were down Bell and Brown for the AFC championship against Denver that year.
