Except that being born into a rich family gives you a tremendous advantage aside from the inheritance, you will have more contacts, you'll be guaranteed an education in the Ivy League (not necessarily better than other universities, but basically mandatory for the top jobs in most companies), you'll have your family backing your financial endeavours in case they go wrong, meaning you can take bigger risks...

My son and I started playing videogames together when I was in my mid-20's and he was 8 or 9. We also did a lot of skateboarding, listened to music, went for long walks just talking (about everything: school, problems big and small, girls and friends..) and did his homeworks. My son grew up to work with computers. He had a time in mid-school when he was about to flunk. But he catched up, it took some motivation from me (as I am his mom and his father didn't really understood how important that he encouraged his son - but I won't bring his father down for this, his father made more money than I and had a drivers license which I didn't, so he contributed a lot to my son's upbringing too.) And when my son was able to be in charge of his choice of education. In Sweden, we choose our line in high school. So when he saw that what he's studying had a purpose, he made that extra effort that played off. And why was he that good at computers? Because he had done programming since he was 8! Because the videogames - especially those on PC - encouraged programming and sometimes it actually took a certain amount of knowledge and skills at programming to fully enjoy the game. Even surgeons these days learn how to operate via vidoegame-like software! My son's no millionaire, but he makes enough money to lead a nice life. This boy with the annoying accent (is he French AND Chinese?! What's up with the accent?) seem to have a need to flaunt his "fortune" (which makes me suspicious if he's really a millionaire at all). And talking down to other people is kind of a tell-tale sign of him not being that satisfied with himself. I think he's indeed a narcissist Bute doesn't love himself - pretty much the opposite. Because it's a big misconception that narcs loves themselves. But there's a big difference between being grandiose, living with delusions of grandeur and have a good self esteem and loving yourself. And people who have a pathological need to put other people down are always people who have such doubts about themselves that they need to put other people down to feel kid of better. Sad, huh. And what's with the bat? 😹 Keep playing videogames! It's a perfect way to blow off some steam. It's a great coping skill in hard times. It's a great, safe way to daydream. I had a shrink who said that gaming was good for me: I got complex PTSD and struggled with anxiety - struggled, because it got better! Life ain't all about driving an expensive luxury car or having money for money's own sake. Life is about living. And as long as your gaming doesn't limit you in living your life, but maybe even gives you a space where your recharge your batteries, play your videogames and God bless you ❤

Charlotte Rebecca Lundberg Moms know best when it comes to their children's interest in video games. My mother always knew how much I loved games and supports it. I'm only worried for my friend who has parents that disprove of his hobby. They blame video games for his anxiety and depression when the real cause is being lonely and having too much pressure on his shoulders. They forced him into extremely advanced classes in highschool and he wasn't allowed to spend time with friends. He was lonely and video games was keeping him sane. They blamed games when they didn't know they were just making it worse. People should understand why we love games. Games are very amazing and I am still alive because of games. Without them, I would have no reason to wake up in the morning and get through the day of work.

Video games inspired me to learn about things I never would have thought of. I started playing games in the arcades then with a Commodore VIC 20 and an Atari 2600 (showing my age now). When my dad and I built our first PC (with an Intel 486 processor) I became obsessed with computers and how they worked. I eventually got a degree in electronic engineering and have a great job now. If it hadn't been for games and computers, who knows where I would be.
