You can change it to power a piston door

Or just make the redstone link up to a block with a redstone torch on it to power the door and the door is placed reversed. (sorry if that’s confusing.)

Hey guys just to update: if you're using a signed book the signal strength is slightly different so you need 18 items in the hopper rather than 21. I used 'key' 15 1 1 1.

@@t.o.c9176 you could use it for just about any door, (I used it for a 3x3 vault door myself) because with a bit of tampering, you can make it simply emit a redstone single when activated. (You can see how I use it in my bedrock survival series, (ender dragon vid)). If people want it I’ll make a tutorial, though I think this one covers the basics of keycard locks in MCPE.

Thanks alot!. I made a variant where the door is replaced with 4 sticky pistons (vertically) and the pressure plate is replaced with a button, and next to that one is another one. Button 1 closes the door, button 2 opens the door,

Hopefully this helps someone. If you want to use a written book as a key like I did you have to remove a few of the other blocks in the hopper because a book takes up more space or something idk. Also if anyone wants to know, it still works.

So Awesome Awesome doesn't even cover how much of a help you are for me. I started learning to play to play with my 12 yr. old daughter and I'm hooked because there is an actual process to things and I like things that involve brain work. However, there are just not very many even remotely competent Bedrock Tutorial Tubers out there and (I'm not even gonna go into the whole fakers and cheaters and mods using diatribe) I soooo appreciate your clear, concise and and lovely presentation skills. It's a real coup for me too that I found your channel before she did as she has been playing for more than a couple years. If you don't want to see the obsidian but keep the same footprint, make the piston face down and put the obsidian under it in place of the wool block.

Fill your hopper up with bullshit except one square that one square has to be whatever your specific block is that way you can’t fool it with a different item and it’ll stack up the reason a different item bedsides (insert item) wouldn’t work is because it can’t stack no where but diamond blocks stack
