@juliee593 Жыл бұрын
It's not even "for having an opinion" (because at least that would be understandable, some opinions are hot trash and you deserve the consequences that come to you), from what I've seen he doesn't even express any opinions on sensitive topics. He simply makes jokes, no matter the topic, and he is not trying to express any opinion in particular with those jokes. But these terminally online kids can not comprehend the idea that making jokes about X doesn't mean you hate X, or just because you mention Y doesn't mean you endorse Y.
@stellamariss33359 ай бұрын
Main reason I enjoy schlatt is his bluntness and his unfiltered jokes. He’s doesn’t care about what people think he’s just being himself and it makes him seem more real, like a real person. Cause he might say something I’m like yo that’s crazy. It’s unnerving if the creator is “perfect”.

In my opinion, Tommy seeing a therapist is a wise decision. Not so much for this topic, but for something much more serious. Through the annals of history, power and fame have generally had an adverse affect on children, and it goes in multitudes when it comes to the internet. It sends them down dark paths where they often don't recover from until they're well into their adulthood. Are there exceptions to the rule, yes, but the rule still stands.
@veeryrare74923 жыл бұрын
I would say see a therapist if it’s too much to bear on your own, if you can handle people saying ungodly things to you for the simplest things then you don’t need a therapist but sometimes it can feel as if the world is against you so you should always talk to friends/family about it, never keep your feelings bottled.
@Theendman423 жыл бұрын
Some don’t recover at all. I feel sad and angry thinking of all the little kids being pushed into fame have been ruined mentally, and while it is possible for recovery, so few realize that, and don’t have the knowledge of what’s available, and how could they? Their world has been a certain way for as far back as they can remember. It hurts to hear that people are shaming him for seeking therapy, that’s a MAJOR problem, a lot of people are ashamed of the idea of therapy, as if there is something inherently wrong with them that needs “fixing” when the reality is, it is bringing to light the best of a person.

Twitter feels like a coliseum, but, instead of fighting against an enemy, the brawler battles the crowd. Every little thing you have done and will ever do is going to be put in a pedestal for everyone to find a way to ridicule and eventually eviscerate you. Once you take even a single step in along the crowd, you have a chance to be the next one fighting. Those who do not play by the rules and just exit the coliseum are hated or deemed cowards. And those who survive the coliseum only come back in the crowd so long until they are back at the spotlight. It feels to me as a cycle which will never be broken.

Minecraft twitter and Tik Tok has completely destroyed the reputation of gen z. People like this in these communities constantly claim the moral high ground, and claim to represent legitimate change and activism in every way, yet ironically they consistently do nothing but tear people down, especially content creators, as if they aren't human beings. Because they claim the image of activism and real world change, it further stains the misunderstood image. Its infuriating and embarrassing in every way. The complete irony of presenting a positive image, while tearing people down in a GAMING community. This isn't even supposed to be about the real world! The gaming community is supposed to be an escape, its supposed to be fun, comedic, and friendly. I think most of us wish we had the old Minecraft community back from its golden days. Certain creators focus their channel around certain things, and its a huge responsibility to put WORLD POLITICS on people who aren't equipped on that insanely complicated subject. Its stressful, confusing, and its not for everyone to be a "spokesperson" on. This is how content works. You go to certain people for different types of content. Content creators aren't your boss, they're not your governor, They aren't corporate business leaders, and they can't do jack shit about anything going on. Leave them alone. Let people just enjoy themselves, and make comedic videos, play video games, do makeup, etc. Not everything has to have a deeper message or disclaimer packaged inside about the distressing and depressing outside world. Its relaxing and enjoyable to sit back and watch people like the misfits and jschlatt and tommy and their friends, play video games, and make funny vlogs. Quit ruining these communities that were meant for bringing people together to laugh, make friends. Its an escape from the real world that you constantly feel entitled to remind content creators about, as if they live under a rock, or are from mars. Humor is also solely based on the context of the environment and conversation. Satire does not often reflect anyone's entire personality, and personas exaggerated for shock value, are not supposed to be serious. They're funny and its mindblowing to me how people turn it into something so literal and serious.

"Be more politically active" they say to the British 17 year-old. It's not about acting "right" or "wrong" for your fanbase, it's about being a human with human emotions and not a puppet for the world to manipulate. If I ever had this level of fame I'd rather let my name fizzle out than change myself and my social life to make these sociopaths feel validated about personal/pointless topics like this. The fact that they'd rather push people down than help bring them up shows that they don't actually care about making the world a better place, they just want someone to yell at so they can think they're on a "moral high ground" and feel better about themselves.

It is absolutely infuriating that someone could say that a person does not deserve therapy, especially with the way therapy is already stigmatized. Therapy is not only good treatment for people suffering from poor mental health, it is also essential to maintaining good mental health. The brain is an organ just like your lungs and heart, and like those vital organs, it's necessary to get a check up every once in a while. You don't have to be a dribbling lunatic to need therapy, you just have to be human, with flaws like anybody else.
