This is actually one of my favorite Tim Burton movies! I love to watch it around Halloween. I really liked Depp's portrayal of Crane and am honestly glad they turned down doing the prosthetic makeup on him as I think it would have been more distracting tbh. Plus I like the idea of having a really handsome dashing Crane but his characters personality was opposite as he wasn't the typical heroic type but instead a gentle person with interesting quirks.

The Sleepy Hollow set looks so realistic. The layers of mist and forbidding grey sky really create an uneasy atmospheric backdrop to the film. A great example of cast, crew and sets coming together to create something memorable.
@amber_updike4 ай бұрын
Yes! I think the set pieces for the town are pretty similar to the original Washington Irving story with the farmland and the covered bridge and stuff(don't remember if there was a church in the original story though), other then the constant greyness and mist set the tone, but also how when like, you knew the horseman was coming or had come how the sky was changed to black clouds and thunder and lightning and how the music was risen and dramatic, it's all the little details that perfected and made this movie incredible

I love "odd connections" like this. On the whole, the Sleepy Hollow cast is the cast of "Star Wars prequels" meets the cast of "Harry Potter" with a little "Pirates of the Caribbean." Also interesting to note is that Christopher Lee played Dracula and was hunted down by Abraham Van Helsing, played by Peter Cushing, a.k.a. Grand Moff Tarkin. The actors had also co-starred in "Frankenstein," with Cushing as Dr. Frankenstein and Lee as the monster.

In 1996 it finally officially became Sleepy Hollow.

I used to live near Sleepy Hollow and have been there for work and relaxation many times. In October there is a huge, elaborate display of Jack O’Lanterns at one of the old 17th Century manor homes. I knew some of this stuff already but this is good information aaaaaand I have a few facts for you, first one is it's Christina Ricci (REE-CHEE) and Casper Van Dien (DEEN). Sleepy hollow is so far my favorite Tim Burton movie

This film scared the hell out of me and my family when we first saw in April 2000, after it's VHS and DVD release.

I actually enjoyed the Burton/Depp collaboration on 'Sweeney Todd', but once again, I think it depends on the material. And it IS definitely getting stale. (also; NECA Toys have done some pretty kick-ass collectibles based on Burton-films) Keep up the good work! =)

I definitely agree that this an underrated movie, (although it has become quite a cult favorite in recent years) but you should know; like most action figures produced by Macfarlane Toys, they were never intended for children. Throughout the 90s, Macfarlane produced action figures EXCLUSIVELY for the adult-collectibles market, even though they were still sold at Toy R Us and the like. They (still) specialize in horror, sci-fi, and fantasy licenses. =)

Velvet Dogg 😂😂😂 Pirates 4 I’d say. Fucking atrocity of a film and all films just seemed to be shit at that time

WHAT!!! You only knew Roddy McDowell from planet of the apes?!! Mr. McDowell is horror movie royalty. He's done many many classic great and good horror movies and shows.

This is just about my favorite Tim and Johnny flick. We get Christina Ricci performing with excellence. We have Johnny Depp as a coward that passes out when he sees anything frightening. We have Jeffrey Jones aka the principal from Ferris bueller's day off.. I mean, what's not to love about this movie? And Christopher Walken as the ferocious, fangtoothed Hessian!? Hell yeah!

Those are McFarlane Toys action figures, which are known to be high quality merch, more aimed at collectors than kids. McFarlane was founded by Todd McFarlane, the creator of Spawn and one of the founders of the late Image Comics.

Nice one, Minty. And Dark Shadows was hilarious. Though it did turn off older fans since the TV series was a gothic drama.
