they don’t offer deals as gifts. They do it because the state/prosecution believes there is a very good chance the jury could acquit. OR/and they offer pleas when a co-defendant is the only witness with testimony damning enough to convict the main suspect, and they need bargaining power.

I had a violent mother. She tormented me and my sister every day, screaming, hitting, throwing things. She broke a hairbrush, and then a back scrubber while beating me. One day she picked up a butcher knife and threw it at me. It crashed into the wall, right next to my head. I went to live with my father and had I not, I'm sure she was capable of killing me. These cases make me so angry I can hardly breathe.

Look at 20 month old Baby QUINTON from Savannah GA. His Mother beat him and Quinton's 3 year old brother time and time again. Those babies were always covered in huge bruises. This is absolutely disgusting. Someone I love very much suffers from what they now call addiction disorder. When he was 17 to 18 years old he was involved with a couple of his friends in the theft of vacuum cleaners from Walmart, which they then pawned to get money for their overwhelming drug addictions . The state offered what they called help,...... Because he was bullied into accepting that help or sitting in jail awaiting trial that was promised to be delayed, he sits in jail today. He has more than 7 years hanging over his head This all happened 7 years ago! . Just recently I have watched a woman walk free here after decapitating the man that she was flirting with at work ,knowing she had an abusive husband, and now I watch as this woman will likely do a year or less for perjury technically, with full knowledge of the murder of a beautiful little girl. I am disgusted

Smh. You have know idea how the justice system works. Often, testimony is needed to get a conviction (which is likely the case here). What's the point of testifying when you're being charged as well and there is no benefit to you? You'd just incriminate yourself and guarantee your fate otherwise. Of course, people facing serious charges aren't going to cooperate without a deal. Would you rather the killer walk free? You only get one shot at a trial due to double jeopardy, btw. So it's not like the state can prosecute him for this terrible crime again at any point, for any reason. These types of crimes are especially heinous and it's only human to have overwhelming emotions. However, you are blinded with those emotions. When you have emotional knee-jerk reactions (like your opinion about plea deals here), you can easily cause even more harm rather than actually helping. Which is why it's a good thing people like yourself don't run the justice system.

My little sister was born with a disease where all her organs are backwards and she has no cilia hair in her entire respiratory system. My dad was addicted to smoking cigarettes; smoked several packs a day. The day he learned her lungs were in dire condition, it never smoked again. That’s called being a parent. You do the HARD things because you brought life into this world. No one said it was goin to be easy. Let me ask you, if this little girl had been found deceased from self inflicted wounds in this moms care while she was high, would we have blamed the mom then? Absolutely. That’s called neglect. What happened here is still neglect. Not only by the mom, but by a system designed to keep kids safe. I won’t make excuses for any of them. My heart can hurt for their loss because it’s too late for them to learn, but I won’t make excuses for the mom because I hope others will learn from this. Do the HARD things in life now.
