That you include a coupon codes even for the other brands shows that you simply want to improve people's health whether it be through your product or not. Love your integrity. I've used Ancestral for years and it healed a serious eosinophilic gastritis syndrome in my daughter when her iron and platelets bottomed out dangerously. The doctor gave us prescription iron to take for a year (obviously only non-heme iron which concerned me) but we never filled the prescription. Took trachea and liver instead and she looks like a different child today! Miraculous! I am excited to give MK supplements a try with my next upcoming liver purchase. Great video!

What are your thoughts on Heart and Soil Beef Organs Supplement?
@MichaelKummer2 жыл бұрын
Heart & Soil makes outstanding organ meat supplements. The only downside of organ meat complexes is that they water down the micronutrients of the individual organs. For example, the micronutrients you get by adding kidney and pancreas don't make up for what you lose by taking out parts of the liver. That's why I prefer using products that contain only one or two organs. I supplement with liver and a heart+spleen combo instead of using products that contain liver, heart, spleen, pancreas and kidney.

I researched for hours, and the best I found on Amazon is Zen Principle grass-fed & finished, undefatted beef liver. Sourced from Argentina. Apparently Argentinian beef is is almost entirely grass-fed, and unlike New Zealand, is almost entirely raised for beef and meat consumption, not dairy.
@MichaelKummer5 ай бұрын
Zen Principle uses heat-dried instead of freeze-dried organs. That means the final product will have fewer micronutrients than their freeze-dried counterparts. Whether cows are raised for beef or dairy doesn't really make a difference as long as they're fed only grass from fresh pasture. I'd also argue that the volcanic soil in New Zealand is better than that of Argentina.
@HollerAtcherBoi5 ай бұрын
@@MichaelKummer This is from their website: "Most beef liver supplements and beef organs are dried at high temperatures that damage the fragile nutrients and enzymes. Zen Principle’s Beef Organ Complex is gently freeze dried (desiccated) and remains undefatted to preserve the full nutrient profile of the delicate beef organs." What do you think of the Codeage brand? I just ordered literally every organ they have in capsule form
@MichaelKummer5 ай бұрын
@@HollerAtcherBoi They mention something different (vacuum drying) for their Beef Liver product. When I started with MK Supplements, I looked into raw ingredients from Argentina and found them to be of lower quality than those from New Zealand. That's why I stick with NZ ingredients. @MichaelKummer Жыл бұрын
I see no reason why not but always recommend talking to a knowledgable health care professional. However, if your doctor put you on meds to lower your cholesterol, he probably doesn't understand how foods impact your health and that elevated cholesterol levels do NOT increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. That's a myth that has been debunked a long time ago.

I am taking cod liver oil right now. It seems there would be an overload of Vitamin A adding beef livers into my diet? They both seem to have similar vitamins (cod liver oil seems to have more D?). Would you advise switching it out every other mo to keep the different nutrients coming in? Just curious on your thoughts on this.
@MichaelKummer Жыл бұрын
I'm not a huge fan of oils because it's incredibly difficult to ensure they're not rancid. Beef liver (fresh or freeze-dried) and sunshine has everything I need. However, if you like the oil and trust its source, I'd switch it up every so often.

Plants are poor sources of micronutrients. Just because a plant has XX% DV doesn't mean your body can absorb it. So, no, I don't consider AG1 a good supplement.

Good question. Bison is usually more expensive to source than beef. The LGS pricing seems really low which surprised me. I'd ask if they defat the liver. If not, give it a try.

@@MichaelKummer we were feeding him Taste of The Wild. That’s what he has eaten his whole life. However, he’s a spoiled dog so he always gets it mixed with fresh chicken or steak. When he got sick we cut out the dog food all together and feed him a blend of sweet potatoes, chicken, and rice. He’s still sick. Vomits multiple times a day. Went from a 70lb dog to a 35lb dog 😩 He’s a lab, so definitely shouldn’t be 35lbs. I put two capsules of beef liver in his food this morning. We know he doesn’t have long left, but we are trying everything
@MichaelKummer7 ай бұрын
@@MrsFearEstate Taste of the Wild contains many ingredients I wouldn't feed my dog-mostly grains. I'm not saying that's what caused your dog's issues, but I wouldn't rule it out, either. Dogs are carnivores who can handle the stomach content of their prey -- but that wouldn't be sweet potatoes and grains. I'd switch him to a 100% raw meat diet, including muscle meat, bones and organs and see how he does. Raw egg yolks and fish are fine, too, but I'd cut out what canines shouldn't eat.

@MichaelKummer Жыл бұрын
I never used their product but based on the product information, it contains fillers and flow agents and they only claim grass-fed (and not grass-finished), which leads me to believe that they use conventionally-raised beef (grass-fed and grain-finished). They also don't spell out if their organs are non-defatted, so I assume they are. All those factors combined lead me to believe that their product isn't on the same levels as the ones I mentioned in the video.

If im eating animal base diet what am i missing if im missing ONLY organ meats? What ingredients am i missing?
@MichaelKummer11 ай бұрын
An animal-based diet consists of organ meats. So I'm not sure what your version of an animal-based diet looks like. What micronutrients you may or may not be missing also depends on your body's nutrient requirements which is influenced by physical activity, stress and a host of other factors.

@MichaelKummer11 ай бұрын
@@sw4lyfe That's hard to tell without doing blood work and checking for micronutrient deficiencies. The fact is that all meat-leaning mammals in the wild eat the organs first, including modern hunter-gatherer tribes. On the flip side, they usually don't have the luxury of eating such a variety of foods as we have. So you might be okay without organs but you'd have to test to make sure or roll the dice.
