What makes Jon great is his willingness to study opponents. He studies film like his brothers in the NFL have to, many MMA fighters don't put that work in because they get in their own heads too much when they study film. While others find things to fear, Jon finds things to exploit. If anybody could really learn from Jon, learn how to study your opponent like he does and exploit their weaknesses as well as nullify their strengths.

I’ve watched the UFC for decades now. And for me, Jones is on a another realm compared to any other potential GOAT. The “scariest auras” the UFC has ever seen, like Anderson, Couture, GSP, DC (…) weren’t able to be as consistent as Jones’. As a fan of Jones, I want (pretty badly) to ser him fight Tom Aspinall. But I reckon the majority of people who claim to have interest in watching this fight are just completely desperate to see Jones lose. People just can’t stand a “bad guy” being the GOAT of a sport. In this regard, I must bring the fact that Jones has always beaten the “new and ascending fighter who is *the guy* to beat him”. So I think Jones has proven himself enough; and if he fights Aspinall, I’m putting money on him.

Is Jones a great fighter? Absolutely! Lets take a closer look at his HW career. He fought Gane, a high level striker with a questionable ground game. Did Jones say im going to prove that im a better striker than this guy or will i just exploit his weakness? If Jones went out there and beat Gane up on the feet id say thats the best guy but he did the smart thing and didnt engage in striking. Now Jones is waiting for a guy we know is past his prime. I dont think any fighter of that level especially a long time world champion is scared of anybody. Fighting is their way of life and they live and breath it. To better put things in perspective bro, he has some doubts if he can emerge victorious and he is smart to choose his options before going head on and facing those guys. When you face guys like Rumble, Tom Aspinall, Francis Ngannou you have to be very prepared and Jon is smart enough to himself that he probably need more time to be prepared for these guys. He isnt scared in the context that he is a about to shit on his pants, thats another story.

Stipe will give him a really hard fight but Jon will find a way he is just way too crafty. Could be a close split decision for Jon here. Stipe is tough as it comes and is a true warrior, not going out that easily. Nevertheless it is gonna be a grueling fight. Stipe too tough, a lot of heart and also a lot of talent too but Jon is otherworldly more talented. At the end of the day natural talent trumps almost everything but Jon is going to pay that price with Stipe, he is in there for the fight of his life that after the fight he is also gonna be bruised, battered, and in a lot of pain.

@@FramrodLiggins Stipe lost thats what happened and sadly father time has caught up to him followed by years of inactivity. He tried to hang in there but he said it, it's time to call it a day. Active and prime Stipe, totally different story. As I said Jones will still win facing prime or non prime Stipe due to his insane talent but he has to fight with every single fiber of his being similar to Jones vs Alex 1 but much tougher.

I've always said that Jones's best weapon is his mind and that applies to anyone who fights. If you're not using your head in a fight you're gonna lose. Jones, Silva and Ali were the of the same mindset. Connor was in his early years but those three all have that killer mindset fight IQ.

He was nicknamed Jon 'Poopy Pants' Jones for ducking Ngannouno. Obviously sounds betyer for UFC to give sn alternative story why the fight never happened i e. one that favours their current fighter Jones but is really discombobulated dangleberries.
