It always was, but back then the jokes were layered enough to where adults could be entertained. They don’t have those jokes in them anymore. But the thing is, the old seasons weren’t only great for the jokes. They had great storytelling, interesting characters, fun plots, and were more grounded. Instead of throwing in annoying weird facial expressions every 30 seconds, and having these weird songs playing in the background that have been reused for 10 seasons now, just make a more grounded show and make better background music. Its a real shame when kids tv shows try to copy stories and themes from the original version of the show or earlier seasons rather then trying to do their own thing
@herniebadlautner.73404 ай бұрын
I miss the early seasons when it was so calming and tropical and atmospheric and the humor was extremely subtle and hilarious and the funny faces were used sparingly so they stand out more, Now every face has to be a wacky over-the-top expression accompanied by an obnoxious Johnny Test whipcrack soundeffect and the music isn't pleasing to the ear, nor is the show pleasing to the eye, all of the senses it's unpleasant to, I've never seen a show that went from The Best to The Worst so immediately, There was never an episode of SpongeBob that was just okay or average, it went from consistent 5-star hit after hit for the first three seasons, they had a very Pixar-esque run, then after Hillenburg decided the story had come to a natural end but Nickelodeon said "fuck that" it's been consistently bad with not a single exception after all these years, even the brief period before Hillenburg's death where he reportedly "came back" to the show, which I doubt he had any actual control or involvement besides a condesceding pat on the back slash pickpocket from a millionaire executive.

Erosion is a reference to when Squidward reads science digest and laughs at it. (Also did you just say you didnt know what erosion was)

Wait I thought Sandy was studying to do a science paper or something. Not history. Did… did they mix up history and science?
@_Doctor_144 ай бұрын
The writers probably think that every lesson (history, science, literature) is for NERDS like Sandy, that's why they make her interested in everything. Of course I don't like their way of thinking, as a nerd myself.

I like ugh as SB-129 and even ugh has better jokes than hysterical history

Honestly idk why everyone is complaining about the nostalgia aspect, it's literally the ONLY thing I like and appreciate in modern spongebob.
@bibrixi4 ай бұрын
I think bringing back old references is great, but its literally to a point where its the only thing that's being put into the episode. There is genuinely little to no effort put into the jokes, writing, or even the plot of the episode because apparently nostalgia makes up for all of that. I sure that's why a lot of people are complaining
@korkenzieher4 ай бұрын
@@bibrixi Yes, I just see it like this. The writing, jokes, plots would be trash anyway, and without the references there would be 0 aspects I like about modern spongebob. Sad what happened to that show lol but it is what it is.

Idk why but the Hoops/Old Man Walker villain part reminds me of the unused ending to The Nightmare Before Christmas

Spongebob is doing nostalgia cutaways now? What is this family guy?

Off topic but SpongeBob just sounds so tired. I think Tom Kenny has really strained his voice over the years.

If the people in charge of writing new episodes see this (I doubt it) please; for the love of god, come up with new ideas. We don’t actually like shameless rips of old episodes, that’s not how nostalgia works. Imagine if instead of Elder Scrolls 6 after all these years, we instead got a slightly different version of Skyrim, the same game we’ve had for well over a decade. That’s what this feels like. You know what would succeed at nostalgia? An episode that actually aims to capture what SpongeBob used to be, the thing I am actually nostalgic for. And you don’t do that by pointing at older episodes going “remember this?” It’s lazy is what it is. If I wanted that, I’d go back and watch that episode.

Bit of a correction: SpongeGar and Patar are from Ugh, the SB-129 Spongebob and Patrick are just called Primitive Sponge and Primitive Star

This episodes makes the nuclear theory more plausible. The main flaw of this theory is that we see the characters way before nuclear bombs even existed. But now we see how an anchor suddenly apears in what is supposed to be prehistory. I think their prehistory is happening right after the nuclear tests and would explain the anchor. The reason they're so developed now when only 40-60 years passed is because maybe time is diffrent here. Think about how 1 human day is 7 dog days. Maybe something similar is happening here

Bro they need to study old episodes of Spongebob and just take time to see what made them episodes the best
@_Doctor_144 ай бұрын
The worst part is that so many fans have studied it. Just type something like: "What made old SpongeBob so great", and you'll see over 10 videos talking about everything that made the old seasons so peak. The writers are the only ones who haven't noticed yet.
