Never noticed the map design and cover before in the older games, but now that you mention it, that makes a LOT of sense! I remember running around maps in MW and MW 2, getting killed when I was a noob. A lot of areas I would run into and get killed by someone who was in a more strategic position than I. COD games nowadays don't really have that sort of clipped, strategic cover and I think that really dumbs down the type of gameplay into the "run down an alley and hope you find someone" game that it seems COD has turned into. What's so sad is how split screen is starting to disappear from gaming. I used to have friends over and play halo 3 and reach all through the nights and then play the campaigns LSAO. I miss those days. Recent games that have split screen only support 2 player at the max. And most don't have at all. So sad😢😢

A few things i should have mentioned in the video, 1. I meant first game at 60fps on the console, for a wider mainstream audience at the time, obviously 2. The cover examples i showed are not headglitches; headglitching occurs when its litterally just someones head above a peice of cover, and people would call it a glitch because you can't see their gun and it looks like the bullets are coming from their mouth lol; back when they existed i thought some headglitches were fair and others weren't; still prefer map design with clipping and headglitching to the oversimplified shit they rely on today; but i am not at all surprised people in the comments are already so salty about the thought of someone using cover against them, there's a reason cod went the way it did after all ;) #CoDToddlers 3. Simplified maps make the game more accesible, why was i mean about cod doing it when in my last vid i basically praised overwatch for the same thing? Because Overwatch still has depth of strategy in its chars and the actual combat; which the simplified actually kind fo complement; where with cod the TTk's and recoil rae so low that without some kind of cover or strategic map design it litterally just turns into a game of hide and seek; there's never really a "fight" you know?

He shows a progressive drawing from a child where at first he draws a man in a field in a sunny day. Cod's major issue is their obsession with constantly increasing the speed of play, whether that be ttk or movement.IW is both of these. There's still very talented people there (Treyarch is largely unchanged/ IW isn't all deadwood/ and SH are innovative.) bbut they're forced to make maps designed for the twitch shooter it's become, which means no cover etc. If COD ditch the chain movement system and to some degree the 3 lanes i have no doubt we'll have the game we used to love again. After all, as bad as ghosts was it's significantly better than the last 3 we had

MW3 was the start of players putting blindfolds over their eyes and using stalker to let the aim assist kill anyone who even found cover on the map. ghosts could have done it right if they added more cover that protected the neck area and lower and made it so that you could actually see players that chose to charge you.

L_B_XD i loved ghost when it came out. i thought their approach to class building was the best there was minus the squad points currency. and the largly aysmmertrical map design was good i only didnt like siege and that was the first map i played on that game(eww). but ghost did alot of cool things. i liked the lean mechanics, weapon balance, extinction and that tank level of the campaign. not my favorite Cod but top 5 for sure.

I believe if a complete 2 hours played noob starts shooting at a pro, if the noob misses his shots enough so that the pro can turn around and shoot, the pro should win. or if someone with an SMG picks a fight with someone with an AR at a longer range, the AR should win. Finally, I'm not to sure who JetFire Gaming was referring to, I started at WAW, and have played all of the cod games bar the first two and IW. I also didn't play AW that much but oh well.

I am 21 years old, I'm in college studying mechanical engineering and doing very well. I am extremely intelligent. I happen to enjoy infinite warfare more than cod 4 remastered. cod 4 was the first cod game I ever played, I played it on wii back before I had a ps3. I then got a ps3 and played WaW, MW2, all the way till now. the only game I didn't play very much was AW as I didn't like how chaotic it was. I enjoy IW more though, just because it plays slow, doesn't mean its more tactical. to be good at a game like MWR it really doesn't take much skill. all it involves is posting up, exactly like you do in the video and aiming down sights. no gun skill, no reaction time, nothing. IW is different, its chaotic, theres people everywhere, it requires EXTREME focus for you to not die 2 seconds after spawning. to do good in this game I have to try SO much harder than in MWR meaning b definition it is more stimulating. it takes awareness of exactly where people spawn at all times because so much is going on, it takes much more gun and accuracy skill as people are flying everywhere. and many people don't like this, they don't like having to actually try to do good, but that's the beauty, its not easy, like past cod games. so in my opinion IW is much more stimulating than MWR. whether or not that is a positive or negative is up to you. MWR requires less skill and therefore is easier to play so a lot of people like it better. but not me, its pretty boring heaglitching with an m16 for 20 minutes straight getting chopper after chopper because I one burst people across the map. that's not skill. but to each his own. but just because someone likes newer cod doesn't mean they are a "toddler" that's just childish, so maybe YOU are the toddler.

tehCostHD I strongly agree with you, the only game mode I enjoy in MWR is Search and Destroy because it requires all the skills you mentioned and because you don't get blown up every twenty seconds. MWR is just a game of sitting on a head glitch, one bursting someone, throwing a frag, and calling in a UAV where as IW encourages movement and forces you into gun fights where there is no cover making it so the more skilled player comes out on top, not the one that was located behind body sized cover.

To me, black ops 1 did it perfectly, you ran into campers, sure, ghost bush Wookies and all that, but it was nothing like MWR, you can rush in that game. Because the ttk is soooo much slower. A person who can position themselves behind cover has a much better chance to fight off an army of idiots bum rushing at him than someone in the open. E Rid hey man, stop acting as if cod and bf are almost identical, they are two completely different animals, if u like arcade shooters play titanfall or cod, if you like simulaters that have the taste of game related gadgets, try bf or rainbow6, if u want a simulator try verdun, escape from tarcov, or squad. notice how most console players dont play simulators as they arnet for filthy casuals. play cod if u like cod, if they upset u upset them but dont lie to urself.

I honestly think the 3D movement is more fun. I honestly just got bored in MWR. Hard for me to say that because I absolutely loved the original CoD 4. I think there are things to like about both types of games. They should just alternate the two types of cod games each year

I know a guy who is is middle school and he loves modern COD. So he and I did a 1v1 in a game that I used to play when I was younger, which was modern warfare 2. Every minute after I got a skillfully timed shot from behind a barrel on rust he would say, "in BO3 I could have just used my jetpack" or "the maps in BO3 aren't like this". So after beating him I got his older brother on, who is my age and continues to play MW or BO1 to this day. He tried a 1v1 with his brother and completely destroyed him, and then his little brother quit and walked off. Just like we thought he would. This proves that younger kids are more excited to play a game where they don't have to think about positioning and can just wall-run around the map without a care in the world.

I certainly used to enjoy CoD. Now that it's an obvious laughingstock of the entire gaming industry, I feel very frustrated by the fact that it still has some of the top sales every year because that statistic degrades the reputation of the intellectual integrity of gamers.

The entire thing needs a big "On Console" slapped on it. Cod4 fairly impressive for console gaming, not as big of a leap as Halo 2, but still big. All of the multiplayer advancements were on PC since the 90s and the game's graphics still didn't surpass Half Life 2.

SpookyKid94 COD4 was a bigger leap, i get halo 2 was a fantastic game and everything but it didn't create a new breed, we had years of devs trying to replicate it, and it set many of the aspects we expect a modern shooter to havs

Halo 2 was a much bigger leap. It invented playlists and parties. Literally every console game, and even the console network services themselves, have copied Halo 2, and not just FPS. That's much bigger than custom classes, killstreaks, and aim down sights. Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Overwatch, CSGO, and Doom 2016 don't borrow anything from CoD 4, but they do borrow from Halo 2's networking to some extent.

Cod went from being about skill and using the right weapon to just running around aimlessly knowing eventually you will run into someone and get a kill. AV and BO3 were the final nails in the coffin for me. I hated the futuristic setting I hated the movement systems and most of all I hated the made up weapons. I used to love using AK's or M4's in the game and the. Be able to go to a gun show and hold that actual gun and feel the weight and look down the sights. Also with real guns they had a distinctive look and you could tell one from another from the get-go now all the guns look and feel the same. Any gun can get a kill from any distance. An smg can burst fire kill someone from across the map. It's just so sad seeing a game you love lower the bar on itself to the point of stupidity.

I never felt like there was anything strategic about CoD. Doesn't matter the title. There's nothing strategic or innovative about head glitching, poor cordination, and predictable enemy placement. You're doing mindless running and gunning the whole way through. Both titles look like the same shit to me. Just that one is in space with jetpacks.

That's a very interesting point about the map design in MW and MW2. Halo 3 had the same principle in the fact that it encouraged you to really grind out the game and learn the map layouts so you could use them to your advantage.

You know those things called grenades and flank routes? That is how you deal with defensive players. Not head on rushing them and hoping the P2P is in your favor with connection. Dobbins is 100 percent about the COD map design. It is complete shit now and boring. Yes they would have to redo it all, the EXO suit is part of the single player campaign as well as multiplayer. And the multiplayer maps are made for the running. And if they devs "talked to each other" then they didn't steal it did they. And how do we know Titanfall didn't steal the idea from AW? we don't know.
