You blow into it to clear out the combustion gases from the previous shot, then spray the fuel in, not after. It's not necessary on the first shot. Also ultra light hold aquanet hairspray is the best stuff I've ever found, it doesn't stink like axe. I've seen all of your potato gun videos, I don't think you ever quite got the technique right, the potato gun I had when I was 10 sounded like a 12 gauge, and the potatoes would vaporize when they hit something solid. Stick an arrow through the potato and you could probably hunt deer with it. D size batteries were also pretty devastating, you guys need to keep working at it.

Right? They seem excessively skittish about things that really aren't all that dangerous. I used one of those lighters to make a pistol style potato gun about 15 years back. I called it the "tater tot". They aren't the best choice but it's easy to add a grip and make it look like a pistol. Better to use a grill igniter since they hold up better. With 3D printing it's also now pretty easy to make one that looks nice.

It’s not working the second time because the oxygen is burned up from the previous shot. So blowing in it first before the spray would help that. Also, blowing in it after is weakening the mist that catches the spark and removing some of the fuel source. Essentially, what’s happening is the oxygen within the bottle is being forced out when it ignites, propelling the bottle forward. The more surface the mist covers within the bottle, the more power/torque it will produce, essentially being a direct force pushing the oxygen out, alternative to a secondary source of momentum pushing the remainder oxygen out. Oxygen to fuel ratio is also relevant to state, since just filling the bottle with fuel will not produce the same result which is why it needs to be a mist. It just isn’t necessary to get into that within this application since it won’t make a significant difference.
@jaythewolf72162 жыл бұрын
you should mess with making a mini hwacha out of something like this. like get one of them 5 gallon water jugs and a bunch of that pipe you used in this. connect to a bunch of them together like 20 pipes and see if you can fire like 20 bottles at once or something like that. with a single like big explosive chamber. I have seen some people put a bit of alcohol in a 5 gallon water jug before and it was pretty powerful so i think you can blast off a bunch of bottles all at once with it. maybe you can try to see how many bottles you can get it to fire off with a single blast. would be amazing if you can blast 50 bottles at once.

The arrow tip on a 20 oz alcohol rocket isn't going to kill someone unless you happen to cut an artery and dont stop the bleeding. It's not going to penetrate the skull. Also, even if it did have enough velocity and drastically reduced drag, you still have to hit the "kill box"; eyebrows to nose area, roughly, and then a thin band around the sides and back. I think there's a diagram in the Army's M16/M4 weapon familiarization manual. Basically, that's the area you need to shoot for guaranteed instant lethality. IF you were using that sharp toy as a weapon, it would have more destructive power in your hand than being launched, and aim for the carotid, not the skull.
