Just a nit pick but at the end of the 2nd paragraph there’s no need for the question mark. You’re describing the examination of a question not actually making an enquiry. I’m now wondering how much ¥$€* I’m to suffer for this…

What a guest! Prof Peters is incredible. The way he explains/dumbs down things to make it easier for everyone to understand is excellent, it speaks volumes about the depths of his knowledge. The chimp paradox is one of the greatest books of recent times. Can’t wait to watch this one Chris.

Chris's podcasts, backed by science, are like a one-two punch for truly getting to know ourselves and making positive changes. This hits home especially for those of us in the Philippines, where quality mental health resources are as rare as a unicorn. And without a doubt, these podcasts are turning the whole wellness and fitness game on its head - in the best possible way!

I really feel this. It’s like the kick up the arse you need to start learning and exploring who you want to be. Also if you have the time, try to get hold of the chimp paradox and read it. You’ll have a much deeper understanding of this philosophy

Before listening to the full thing I want to say- Professor Steven Peters has the most valuable teachings the internet has to offer and I believe a true face to face podcast is due! I am currently reading a path through the jungle and regularly analyse and pick up on the chimp paradox in every episode you do from either You or Your guest. This must be pushed more !

🎉😂❤ Thanks so much, Chris, for your fascinating and informative conversation with Dr. Peters. Acceptance of our strengths and weaknesses are based on listening to each other and in turn this listening is based on trusting ourselves. Life is living, loving and learning. Intelligence is based on selection. Choose wisely❤😂🎉

A mindset switch that has helped me understand this "Chimp system" on a more deeper and importantly a more human level is understanding the "Chimp" as our Inner Child Everytime Peter says Chimp I replace that with Inner child. If the voice in our heads is our inner child what is our conscious mind? Obviously a Child always needs a Parent to guide them to become their best self. We have the conscious will of a parent and the subconscious mind of a child. Our conscious will (parent) determines our environment and our enviroment detemines our behavior / subconscious mind (child)

The righteous and wise elderly rightfully patronizing or condescending to their youth in the most scornful and deliberate harangue mode - did it nicely (I wish I’d get to that age and get to know my own youth haranguing mode 😂). I’m 27 btw- dead serious. But Chris took it like a champ! Love the channel.

I would love to ask, is there any opportunity to train the chimp brain, or is it even worth the attempt? Is the game purely to manage the chimp and accept it for what it is, or fundamentally change it?
@SweetFeetSHIPP
@SweetFeetSHIPP Жыл бұрын
I would be very interested to know others opinions regarding this question. If I may, I think the answer to your question (as cliche as it sounds) is entirely up to you. If I'm able to train my chimp brain, I would want it to reflect the truest version of myself; separated from the chimp and the jungle (my environment). Personally, I think it's a life-long game 😎

You only train and manage the chimp, over time the human part starts to predominate, the chimp never goes away, with training it just has a significantly lesser disruptive presence

Every evil act seems to stem from instincts of survival. It seems every instinct has a scale of function and non-functionality. It’s our instinct to eat that causes obesity. A serial killers desire to kill comes from an instinct to be powerful or possessive. You can eat in a healthy or unhealthy way. You can attain power in a healthy or unhealthy way.

Here is a transcript of the conversation where I replaced "chimp" with "inner child" Speaker 1 One of the elite athletes I worked with once said, how do I kill my Inner Child? And I'm thinking, you've really not got this (idea right) because my Inner child (system) is my best friend. Because as long as I understand what he's trying to tell me, what is the ways communicating, then I can use that and work as a team. ( parent child relationship)

I began my investment journey at the age of 33, primarily through hard work and dedication. I am to share that my passive income exceeded $100k in a single month for the first time. This success reinforces the importance of the advice mentioned earlier. It is not about achieving quick wealth, but rather ensuring long-term financial prosperity.

Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields.
