The edible sand thing too-you can just teach your kid not to eat dirt n shit, but nah, gotta make it edible because apparently that’s too hard. "hey mom, remember that time you made cheerios into sand because i kept eating it as a baby? that was so cute!" sometimes people do stupid things for their kids because kids, naturally, are just a little bit stupid. let them worry about the cleanup- she acts like we never ate fucking lunchables dirt cake lol or the sprinkles on medicine. has no one ever heard that "teaspon of sugar" proverb? if putting sprinkles on some cough medicine makes your kid go from unwilling to willing on the front of taking it, then just do it lmao. pick your battles.

People who think they can cheat their way through parenthood with hacks and tricks because they're lazy should not be parents. We as a society should be more strict about who's truly qualified by licenses to be attentive competent parents who won't abuse or or exploit or neglect their spouse or children.
@tguit-fiddler56922 ай бұрын
So government regulation on reproductive rights? Maybe just improve our existing systems to protect children. Nobody is ever prepared mentally for the task of child rearing. Think of the logistics and actual implementation of what you're describing. Do you apply for a license to be a parent, and wait to get approved, and before that we force all women to be on birth control, or men assuming there's a chemical method for men in the future, cause there's no guarantees about anyone wearing a condom. Do we just segregate men and women and assign partners, or does it become like a dating game between approved parents. Either way bad apples will still slip through that's for sure. We'll never live in a perfect society, and there's no such thing as a perfect parent. People have done dumb shit like in these videos for years, you see a 30 second clip of their life and you immediately think they're neglecting their child. @@boblecat yeah as an avid reader I definitely get that but sadly I couldn't do it because I used to get super carsick (especially if we drove in the morning) so books and looking out the window weren't great options for long trips and honestly a tablet would be awful too, a so yeah the DVD players attached to the front seats worked a lot better for us personally but when we did the drive after I had a device (and was able to sit in the passenger seat which dramatically reduced my carsickness because the movement out the windscreen is less gross to look at) the same 4-6 hour drive was usually done with just music and talking to people (and later me driving part of the way) which is honestly nice that being said the trip probably felt shorter for a 13+ year old than it did at 7 or 8 but even then as long as I wasn't feeling sick I probably would've been fine entertaining myself just on my own imagination because I've always had a strong ability to daydream and can 100% last over 5 hours on that and maybe a bit of music or sorting something, I managed to spend a good 5 hours organising my collection of glass pebbles by colour (which honestly is probably why I excelled at my first job of checking best before/used by dates and organising stock accordingly lol...)

“Sometimes, and this is an important life lesson, you just have to suck it up and deal with it.” -Hayley 2024. “WE never did that. So why do we think the next generation needs that?” -also Hayley 2024. Hayley was just SPITTIN’ in this video and I don’t even know if she knows it lol. That last one can be applied to SO. MANY. Other things as well. Even some of her captions were spittin’!!😂

Totally agree on NEVER needing a phone to play videos in the bath, thats stupid, my 2 year old has enough fun with the toys. BUT...even as a kid bath time was always music time for me. I would definitely allow my daughter music in there when shes older since now i just cant shower without it being a concert 😂

W things my mother did that weren't dumb to solve these "problems" 1. Have a cup of water/juice for us to drink after we take the medicine. It isn't unhealthy and it washes away the taste. 2. Put childproof locks on cabinet doors. If we complained about hunger outside of meal times, our options were fruit or water. Reasonable 🤷 3. Said no. 😨 AS LONG AS IT ISN'T A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION... SAYING NO WONT KILL THEM (Eating icecream isn't usually a life or death situation) 4. Limited screen time and encouraged reading or playing. This is the reason I enjoy reading so much now and have actually started writing a book of my own. Nuture your kids creativity :D 5. Let us be bored. "I'm boooooored" Go read a book. You need to learn that you can't consume mindless entertainment 24/7... if you still want a functioning brain I could go on forever but I'll stop now-

The Apple Juice hack was solved back in the 70’s… fill the glass a little over halfway up with ice then pour the apple juice. Also with the pea popsicle…. Why not freeze a vegetable soup, a blended stew…. Or I don’t know maybe freeze one of the many flavors of V8 which is a relatively healthy vegetable and fruit juice drink (though I do recommend watering it down a little due to it’s high sodium levels.)

Hayley I truly love and appreciate your videos! It's refreshing to see a KZbinr that doesn't sugarcoat things whatsoever and tells it as it is, and stands concrete on what you believe. Which majority of the time is always morally correct. I know you get a lot of comments about how you "scream" or yell a lot. I apologize for that, but I'd like you to know it's never bothered me. I've fallen asleep listening to your videos before. I really enjoy them. Please continue to make content 🤠

Yeah it's like when you're a kid in school and your classmate keeps antagonizing you over and over and when you ask the teacher for help, they tell you to just ignore it, without doing anything about the little instigator. Yes, ignoring a-holes sometimes works, but I just hate the attitude that most teachers have, like 'if you would just ignore them, then you wouldn't have this problem', making it your fault when the BULLY is still in the wrong! We need to stop all this victim blaming. 🤦

1:57 easy solution to having kids eat veggies. Don't make dessert a big deal. Feed it to them at the same time as other foods and let them be excited for what they want. Then they decide what to value. When I do this with young kids who have not been trained that dessert is a special thing, they almost always go for fruits and veggies because those are things they learn learn how to recognize and how to read those words in class or daycare and it excites them to be able to eat what they know.
@DomiBlancheАй бұрын
I put chopped veggies into ground beef and make meatballs because my dad doesn’t want to eat veggies. At 80+ they become toddlers again.. 🙄 Or I purée veggies into tomato sauce like in the other clip. Works great. 😁 if I had kids I would do it just like that in case they wouldn’t want veggies. But if a parent is a good example for eating veggies, kids are going to eat them, too. I mean, even my dog wanted to eat veggies because I ate them.

"To get your kids more vegetables" Cheese. Not a whole bucket, but it helps to motivate them to at least try the veggies. That's how we got my youngest brother into eating his vegetables. No, he doesn't have to have cheese now to try things, but it helped when he was younger.
