I’m an Uber driver in Orlando, and I had no idea that Monations would be here. LITTLE DID I KNOW that I would end up getting a request to pick up from the Marriott. Come to find out, it was the last night where they threw this roaring 20s party. I thought these ladies were coming from a wedding and made the mistake of asking them what event they came from. I ended up being sales pitched Monat. *how shocking* Shut that down all real fast when I told them I’m worried about losing my hair from Monat products. If I hadn’t stumbled upon Hannah’s videos LITERALLY THAT WEEK, who knows what would have happened. Thanks Hannah! You’re appreciated more than you know!

Then they kind of pried at me, “have you ever tried the products?” To which I told them no. Then comes the sales pitch, one of them then goes on to tell me all about Monations, how they are a “global brand” and expanding to more countries, that they have now added skincare. (Basically everything Hannah describes in the video). She goes on to say that I should try it and how it’ll “change my life like it’s changed hers.” It’s now the end of this 15 minute ride and I told her straight up that I don’t think I would ever try Monat products due what I’ve heard about people’s hair falling out. I did ask her how long she had been working for them and she said 6 years. She then says the other girl in the car just started the previous week. Pretty sure the older one used Monations to really seal the deal. Anyway, I wished them both the best of luck. Still walked away with a 5 star review… so I’ll take it lol

Question for you from a non religious person. The leaders and the influencers using faith as a tactic, are they Christian? Do they believe what they're saying, do they know its manipulative? Do they justify it to themselves? Do they "repent" after? How does that work?
@peachxtaehyung2 ай бұрын
@@katex3159 I think it's a little of both. They're brainwashed into talking like this by the mlmers, and also they believe it because not only the brainwashing but also they're Christian so they believe in God etc. I think it's different for everyone but imo I think it's both, that's my thinking as a Christian as well
@wilhelminawill94952 ай бұрын
@@katex3159 I hazard the guess that at least some of them do fancy themselves practitioners of the faith, but are unwilling to restrain their basic desires for power and social privilege among other things. Hence they allow themselves to do the shady and manipulative things that have gotten them into the positions they're in, because it seemed the easiest and quickest way to scratch that proverbial itch. That being said, they have enough of an active conscience to know deep down that what they are doing is immoral, and goes against the lessons of the Bible, but rather than try to amend their ways, it seems easier and more gratifying to stick their heads in the sand and continue spiralling into deeper manipulation and hypocrisy. As a practicing Christian who also constantly acknowledges her own shortcomings, it sometimes feels hard to decide which seems worse: To be willfully evil, or to be so weak spirited that one allows themselves to spiral into wickedness while coping via denial of reality, rather than just accept that a good, honourable approach to life is going to involve hardship, call for perseverance, critical thinking, and willingness to constantly learn and grow. While also accepting that just going by the statistics woven into the game of life, you are not likely to become fabulously wealthy; it certainly happens, and even to deserving people, but it only happens when it happens, and that's it. If more people like this saw the error of their ways and switched things around for the better, the answer to which is worse would be easy. All too prevalently though, the spirallers cannot bring themselves to start learning and growing; therefore they only become worse.

People will compete for the longest badge, and create badge beards so long they dangle them over the railing in the hotel, dropping them three or four floors. It’s silly, even ridiculous, but so much fun and a great way to meet people. Some people are now taking their old badge ribbons and turning them into capes or dresses or parasols. 😂

In my experience they do. One place I worked at did this convention where all the people in the stores and head office in Canada were invited at this convention. I laughed so hard when I saw the badge ribbons. I attend a huge comic con style nerd convention every year called DragonCon, and people make these badge ribbons to hand out throughout the weekend. It's a silly competition to see how long people can get their collections, and some people even collect enough badge ribbons to construct full capes and costume pieces. There's a contest where people hang their badge ribbons off third and fourth floor balconies to see how far they can go. It's hilarious and all in good fun. The ribbons say things like, "Kirk vs Picard" or "Han Shot first" -- sci-fi and nerdy references of all kinds. It is just hysterical to me that these Monat ladies are taking something like this SO SERIOUSLY when the nerds are doing it as a joke. They are a joke!!!

For me, it reminds me of our student overalls. In Finland each field, and sometimes even specific majors, in universities have their own student association, and each student association has their own student overalls. For example, my association had black overalls, medical school students had white, engineering had baby pink etc. We would wear the overalls on student parties and events and collect patches from those events to later sew on the overalls. You could tell from the person's overalls how much they liked to party from the number of patches sewn on 😀
