Great stuff - I like the info you are sharing. I have been doing this monitor thing for 20 years and it is great to hear someone else's experiences that validate many of my own developed theories! keep up with the videos and sharing of information!

She laid her head down on your arm I almost cried. What a sweet little girl. And how brilliant are you to know exactly what to do to make her feel safe again. You're a good dude Kevin

Definitely think monitors have a lot in common with carnivorous birds! You can see this in the way they respond and interact! It may not be obvious to all but this is to be expected as the monitors are reptiles and their responses are not going to be as quick and obvious as a warm blooded bird, but they are there and they are birdlike if you observe carefully!

What a cutie, glad she is calming down and feeling safer , do they enjoy living together normally or prefer to live in solitude? Thank you for sharing 😊

so putting them in a new surrounding freaks them out then people should expect when they get a monitor through the mail for them to do this for a while till they adjust to their new surroundings ?

Nice. Love your Videos and all your Monitors. Would love to get one of your CCB some day. I've owned a farmed bred one that I had really worked with for 13 years. he was so tame. never had an incident with him. I have my second one who is a tad flighty and recently got out in the open room where I keep all my reptiles. he became scared and ran around, buffed up on me and started to blow that hiss at me and did some tail whaling. He sounds just like this at times. I tend to get the best results when I just let my guy come to me on his terms. I'm at a disadvantage because right now I have a tank that forces me to approach from above which complicates things. well as I mentioned good stuff, enjoy how you work with these guys.

Lizard over the head trick works every time! lol I had this one green iguana once and he was just the most skittish animal I've ever seen. The only way to handle him was to spend ten minutes with him over my head first. He was the only one that I was never able to tame down.

She keeps jumping at the light. Maybe she’s trying to get to a basking spot.

Using some of these little tricks with my Nile and they seem to be work of course the little guy is only about a foot long but I have only had it about two weeks already enjoys throat sctraches and will sit on my arm for a bit until he slowly walks off I don't let him jump off. Wish I would have known some of these tricks a few years back when I had my first Nile maybe that would have been a nice guy
