Lego instructions are so clear, you'd think they could do a good rulebook with good examples

I hope this does really well for LEGO, been wanting more LEGO games. I think there are some cool possibilities with the custom LEGO die, if they bring that back too.

I was young when that first wave of Lego board games came out and I LOVED the Heroica series (I think that is the "little rpg" one you referred to). Been looking forward to this since I heard about it.

A Rodney Smith video, while wonderful, is not a substitute for good instruction IN THE BOX, for something that is absolutely going to be purchased as a family game. If anything, I don't think they were hard enough on them for this. Even if it's a great game, it deserves to get dinged.

I like their discussion and as always, very valuable videos on games. The dice tower point on the rulebook needing more examples for kids to understand… most kids have put together Legos, which most the kids that will want this game will have had made Lego items using instructions are very much laid out like the front and back of the cards which means the kids will understand it probably better than the adults. Plus, the game gives a little freedom on where to put the items which is going to be a good point of view for kids . I think it’s one of those games that will be harder for adults to win at against your preteen.

Just played this with family. It’s a good game! Love the spatial puzzle. My nephew and niece are not big gamers and they got it pretty quickly. Rule book is ok in my opinion and it does show examples.

I enjoyed this game more than I thought I would. Very neat game and also interactive. I can see families being okay with it with parent help.

The first line of Lego Games went for quantity, not quality. Lego is being a lot more cautious this time around.

Lego encroaching on board gaming has me nervous. Because of the adults resellers who buy out all the Lego that gets marked down or any limited time only stuff on lauch, just to resell at crazy high prices.

Scalpers wouldn't have a market if the consumers didn't have FOMO. The people who purchase things at absurd prices are partly to blame. Just let them sit there, in shrink, on the 'Bay. Scalpers would be out of a job.

I'm a gamer and I had to stop the rules explanation and go to KZbin to figure how to start placing blocks. So many building rules that conflict with each other.

Wasn't there a sort of engine building game where you would exchange the faces of your dice? It seemed really cool to me and lego would be THE perfect match for a mechanic like that. I even recall the making a die like that way back when. If you have the opportunity to consult again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for this review. Saw this game at my friendly local game store and wondered if it would be a good game for my grandkids. They all love Legos. I think this is a pass for their ages, 8-10.

Thinking of all the things that you can do with Legos, I don't understand how this is the game they decided to launch. When I think about playing with Legos, I don't think about stacking arches. It feels like too many people & too much thought went into making this game... or vice versa. Like this concept was thought up by a group of people, non board gamers maybe, and a white board, trying to appeal to everyone, but the result was something that appeals to nobody. IDK I don't get it I guess. Seems like a missed opportunity
