WOW! My Grampa bought a 71 Galaxy 500 it was a silver color with the same green interior. He drove it till the day he died but it was bad rusted out so no saving it. We called it the Grey Ghost. Yo have an amazing find there. You need to pant it brown like the car in white lightning. and put a 4 speed in it I so love the old cars and truck I just bought a 78 Chevy G20 van need work but it runs and it is a one owner I bought the van from the son who just didn't want it no more. I got it for a really good price. I really enjoy your videos keep up the great work.

I had a 71 Ltd brougham with a 429 engine and it was the only car I ever owned that wound burn the tires as long as you held the pedal down. It was a 2 door with the high back seats that looked like bucket seats but it was actually a bench seat. I miss that car.

Screwdriver instead of tigger! Great video Brotha!!! Possibly high resistance and starter or connection is causing cable to overheat. I would probably check connections at the starter for corrosion! It ended up being an unnecessary ground wire someone added because the other one was loose. A little tightening fixed it right up!

I saw some 15w40 wear tests where Motorcraft beat Rotella due to higher phosphate. I am also experimenting with small amounts of graphite, remember Arco Graphite? but in old push mowers, not cars.

I hear that if the 134 has synthetic oil or no oil, it will mix with R-12 just fine. That what doesn't mix is 134 conventional oil.

When a car sits that long lots of parts dry out and perish and fluids go off as you know. I was thinking fuel pump, then you changed that, and brakes might be the same, the master cylinder and wheel cylinders as well as calipers will probably be gunked up and leak, brake fluid should be fully flushed. Oh and a suggestion, as well as replacing heater hoses, replace the heater core under the dash, that will be rotten from sitting idle.

I LOVE the 71 Ford! Drove many of them in my youth. Don't hate on the Windsor too much they actually make a lot of cheap after market high performance stuff for them now days as the Cleveland was only made for four years there's not as many around anymore. At minimum put a four barrel carb on the ol girl. She'll be better off for it all around IMHO. Less fuel use when out of the fours and much more power when in them LOL. MUCH MORE FUEL too when in them but worth it on one of these. I am stunned that someone would just throw those four wheelers and the scooter away! WOW! They look NEW! But the Scooter looks COOL! LOL.

If you replace the valve seals so it doesn't smoke and the timing gears because they have vinyl teeth it'll run great for a 16yo. I had a 71 galaxy with 351w that would beat my buddies 429 LTD to 130 mph.

My God that LTD is gorgeous!!! There was another car sitting next to that one that looked similar to that LTD. I'd love to have that car but just shipping it to NC would cost alot. Do you remember what kind of car it is? I love the interior. That green is gorgeous. They don't do interiors like that anymore. You get grey, black or blue if your lucky. Those cars had class back then.

You do NOT want no two barrel 351 Cleveland’s after 1970! Two barrel heads were low compression. I know I had one. Cleveland’s are best left to ford fanatics to sort out. They’re a weird assortment of parts and expensive. The 351 w is a much friendlier engine in many ways.

I don't really get hopping up the engine since real speed would also require lightening the car, and stripping out that fine interior, or pulling the Cleaveland to put in a smaller car while putting a cruising 302 or 250 or M in the cruising fullsize car. Would a 300 be too tall? I hear inline 6s are the smoothest, which is why nearly all semi trucks have them now. Sacrilege I know, but that luxury interior is too heavy to outrun cops and if you can't outrun cops, you only need to go about 60. That said, I only removed interior parts from my 390 Mustang that I could unbolt and later bolt back in, but I did outrun a cop once. I did have one use for power when a hit and run driver smashed off my mirror and I caught up to read their plate, with difficulty in my 3 cylinder Geo Metro. The plate didn't match the description anyway, so it was either switched or I misread it. So I might have read that plate better if I had had the optional 4 cylinder engine, but that was the only time I have wanted power in 35 years. That said, the 4 cyl Metro, being FWD, also has better traction than the 3 cyl because it is heavier, and I have had plenty of use for traction.
