35$ each is a fantastic deal. Good video man. I haven't used the W4100 yet, but I might give them a shot.

Snagged 3 HP SFF machines this week on eBay I'm in the UK they were £35 each! 2x AM4 platform A8 and A12 CPUs and a 6th Gen Intel. The CPUs alone resale is more than what the whole machine cost also had 16GB DDR4 in both the AMDs and 8GB in the Intel. Office clearance bargains to be had!

Since the W4100 is GCN 1.0, do you use VBE7 BIOS editor to OC them to reasonable clocks? I mean they're identical to the R7 250, but lower clocked. You can definitely get something out of that core.

In Belgium and France you'll find them at these prices, but if you don't see any it may be because you haven't set an alert and they've already been sold.

Just snagged one from a local auction for $19 and change, including the 23" monitor, keyboard, mouse, and cables! No hard drive, and only a single 4 Gb stick of RAM, but it has an i7, the optional Radeon HD 8450 OEM graphics card (which admittedly is a turd) and, inexplicably, the optional slim-line Blu-ray RW drive. I dropped in an old 320 GB drive with Win 10 Pro from an old build and it runs fine, but slow. I ordered two 8 Gb sticks of DDR3 off eBay for around twenty bucks to wake it up, and I'll probably drop a terabyte SSD in it soon.

What is the graphics card you used that you mentioned in the video? I’m looking for a cheaper alternative that is as close to a Nvidia or GTX 1650 lp.
@DLMtechgarage2 жыл бұрын
w4100 which goes for $40 USD but it's not as fast as the 1650 but for the price they go for, it's value is it's price to performance. I have a video on the channel about it. link below: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJDcn4adgtCsZqM

Hey, big thanks for the AMD card recommendation, I am looking for more RAM for the same computer and I don't know whether I should mix RAM. If you have an eBay shop, let me know.
@DLMtechgarage2 жыл бұрын
mixing ram really aint a big deal as long as the speeds are the same. i stick to same speeds and never have an issue and def do buy cheap brands. i don't have an ebay shop.

Good deal, but you’re way overplaying the GPU. That would not even be considered a graph is card. Some kid watching this would be deceived. The 1080p performance is not “decent” put AT LEAST a GTX 750 ti or something

OMG the hard drive bays on these are absoltue aweful. I don't know how you can scr33w up a 5.25 and a 3" drive bay but HP found a way. You can forget the traditional mounting via 4 side or bottom screws.There is no way to mount either drive in here without them flopping around. I finally just shoved a drive in there floating around and used foam to keep it from rattling. And opening the case was infuriating as well. Instead of two screws on the back, there is a handle you have to pull up and yank on the top cover of the case. WTF. seriously. WTF HP. PC techs do not appreciate change. Or non proprietary connectors. I would say, avoid these machines, even if theyseem like great buys. You can't put a ful height GPU in them, and the power supply is propreitary and only 250 watt. They are not as awful as Dells or Macs, but they are not much better either. I unfortunately bought 4 of these machines to give away as Xmas presents and am regretting it.

yea it's ridiculous the headache to put the drives in!

@@DLMtechgarage That turned ot to be the least of my worries. I spent all day reinstalling Windows twice to realize you got to install the HP intel video driver and audio driver to get the Sleep function to work. And I absolutely hate the power button now. I guess it's an okay system, with an SSD in and maxed out in ram. But geez that HP drivers section was a royal heachache. You couldn't download them all of the same page, you had to cycle through it every single time for chipset, network, video, and audio drivers.
